Default topps truly has become the WORST card manufacturer

Yes, worse than Upper Deck.

I spent over $1600.00 on six cases of Heroes and got shorted 19 cards. (Got 35 hits instead of 54.)

I sent Topps all the UPC stuff, my receipt, ALL THE WRAPPERS, and a nice letter. I also politely mentioned that of my 35 hits, only two were autographs and only 12 were sketches.

I received my 19 replacement cards yesterday. I got one common costume and 20 common autograph cards. Yes, they gave me two extra cards, but ZERO sketches and out of six cases not one single good hit of any kind other than a nice Duron sketch I pulled. I am disgusted that they would send me 20 common autos and no sketches.

It's bad enough spending that kind of money and not getting the guaranteed pulls due to THEIR increasingly typical incompetence regarding quality control. You would think they would go above and beyond to make it up to the person who got hosed. But not only do they not do that, they don't even give you the bare minimum -- they actually send a bunch of crap out.

This is the THIRD issue I have had with Topps in the last four years, and I am no longer spending the thousands of dollars each year with them. I have to honor all my prereleases, but going forward, the ONLY Topps item I will buy is Bowman Draft baseball. (Hey I am not stupid.) Other than that, Topps just lost me permanently. I am tired of their TERRIBLE customer service.

The only thing I wonder is if they do keep replacement sketches. I know when Marvel Masterpieces came out and the artist list was released with the number of sketches that each did, if you added up the numbers it was very close to 13000 sketches which is how many boxes were supposed to have been made.

Why not write them a follow up letter of how dissatisfied you are with the replacements you recieved??

I plan to do so, but I KNOW it won't get me anywhere. Been there, done that.

(It's funny because I just received my replacement for a 2006 Bowman chrome autograph of Mark Pawalek. I got an 06 bowman sterling auto of Prado on the Braves - a $1.00 card.)

Not sure why, but I agree Topps is going downhill on some releases. I'm really hoping for good collation on my football cases. My sterling case was missing lots of hits, last years basketball cases were missing hits. I'm assuming this is a 3rd party contract thats doing the packaging, but I'm not sure (clueless on the whole printing/cutting/packaging process), but they're about the worst right now. As far as replacements, they're pretty good about that, but your at the mercy of customer service. I doubt those people collect, so your just given 20 cards from this box, 2 from that box, etc...totally random on what you get.

Tim when did you send them the letter? I am still waiting almost 2 months for my replacements. And yea they are going down hill. I sent in a bowman sterling redemption a couple months ago, and I got a crappy replacement for another card? They mixed up my bowman sterling redemption for another card, great work Topps.

Just to give everyone a heads up..replacements will be done in either single costumes or all autos except larter.

They wont give any of the premium hits like the dual costumes or autos or auto costume cards.

Someone had posted they sent 3 damaged sketch cards and were sent 3 autos in repalcement.

According to Topps, they have NO sketch cards to give out as replacements...which I find to be VERY VERY odd.
