I'm still amazed with how prices have dropped after release the past 7 or so releases, how people are preordering cases still, but then again they may need to to keep good with local shop or their distributors.

I'm not ordering any boxes before release until I see an uptick. Rogue One was a good move towards giving fans great signers at easonable odds. The amount of Jyn autos is great same for Saw and Chirrut. Plus tons of amazing sketches. However, prices haven't spiked like with Force Awakens, despite a smaller print run.

I have been complaining about that also

So hard to preorder

Masterwork 1
Force awakens series 1
Rouge one series 1

All went up..

Everything else has dropped a lot

What did the first 3 have in common. Multiple high end sketches per case
Smaller print runs and new autos

Tough to keep repeating that with only so many movies

High quality sketch is key to any product IMO

The lack of autos from Star Wars 1-3. Is hard to figure

They have to get those signers someday

I would rather have a no sketch product than generally very low-average quality sketches, so long as the autos stand up and there is a reasonably fair distribution of higher end cards. Most sports products don't have sketches for example.

Portman, Christianson, (spelling, sorry), kid anakin, and mcgregor all either hate Star Wars at this point or hate signing autographs. I give odds of ever seeing them in a product pretty low.

Sam Jackson is insanely rich, he's signed for stuff before so it's possible but you'd need to throw a lot of money at him.

I think the auto offerings from 1-3 will continue to be sparse as far as the main cast goes because they either have no need or desire to do so. But time might mellow them out.

With the way SW products have gone lately this sounds high, but then again we don't know the content at this point.

I do worry that interest in this product will be higher than any other, thus production runs will be near 20,000 boxes. Total guess at this point.
Presale prices have come down a good amount from the original listing:
$77.95 a box
$614.95 a case

Pretty sure kid anakin is in a mental asylum, he's schizophrenic, so I wouldn't be expecting any from him soon

Not sure why they can't get Portman, Christiansen, Ewan and Sam tho

Portman doesn't sign much at all & refuse to sign anything Star Wars related, so the closest thing we could ever get would be a cut autograph from her.

That book is indeed incredible. With distributor orders due today's not this while Rogue One is on fire I'm thinking that 40th will be printed a little (a lot) heavier than other recent releases but that book will have many cases being ripped.

Price speculation on the 6 way book?

Also, I know this has been discussed earlier, but Buyback of what? Vintage cards form 1977? Star Wars 30th Anniversary? I wonder which Star Wars products there using for these buyback autographs.

Well, they got the 6 auto book right, if those are the signers that end up in the final product.

I think this is going to have a big print run unfortunately. I'll say 2000 cases.

Great book though. Would like to think there will be at least 3. 1 would be irritating.

I do wish the base set wasn't going to be 200 cards, in my view it means it's less likely people will have a go at the gold set.

Default First Buzz: 2017 Topps Star Wars 40th Anniversary trading cards

I am very impressed! Unfortunately, this card also scares me because with a big card like this, we could easily see a massive production run up to 15k boxes . Nonetheless, I'm very excited that they are making an epic card like this. The price will depend on how many are made. If it's a 1/1, the sky's the limit and could be 40k, but if it's /3 or /5 (/5 is best IMO) then maybe 10-30k? I'm not an expert clearly but just my guesses. I am very excited for this set but dreading overproduction

Some little tidbits to consider

"However, the base cards that fans collected as children – and many as adults – are making a comeback in 2017 Topps Star Wars 40th Anniversary. Topps is buying back previous Star Wars cards to be placed into the upcoming product with a special 40th Anniversary stamp."

BO's sell page says something different though:
"Buyback Hits
Some of the most collectible autographs and relics have been compiled to be included in this retrospective set.
"

We have some conflicting info regarding buybacks, so I'll try to get to the bottom of it...
I'll tweet mark tonight and ask their Facebook in a few days when their giveaways are over.

Another thing of interest was this from BO's page:
"Medallion Cards
Metal replicas of two of the most iconic objects to travel through deep space, the Millennium Falcon and the Death Star, are embedded on cards highlighting some of the most recognizable characters from the Saga.
Autographed Medallion Cards
- #'d to 10"

Also, they pushed the release up to May....

From BO's sell page:
"6-Person Autograph Book Card - #'d to 2 (HOBBY ONLY)"

And apologies to all for sort of highjacking this thread. I've cleaned up my last couple of posts and added some info for clarification

as much as I want that six way, at least I have this guy to fall back on:

http://i366.photobucket.com/albums/o...psfi1oqkgm.jpg

http://i366.photobucket.com/albums/o...psmypumbbt.jpg

my original idea was to do an octo adding Billy Dee, Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker and Peter Mayhew but doing a double foldout wasn't an easy proposition.

But I agree, this 6 way has to be the best licensed SW card ever made.
