That'd be a great, cheap gimmick though, they should do that.

Yeah, someone just has to risk their life going to Tunisia for it.

If it were legit Tunisian sand, I could see it being valuable. I know I'd like to have one! I have a bag full of dirt from the Night of the Living Dead cemetery.

From Topps' Facebook page:
"Base buybacks will be stamped and NOT counted as hits. Buyback hits will also be stamped and will be one of the hits in the box in addition to the autograph or sketch card.
The buyback hits are previously released autographs, sketch cards and other types of hits in older releases."

So, if you hit a buyback, your second hit will not be a medallion. Your second hit will only be a medallion if you do not have a plate or buyback hit... I'm really excited to see which relics they've brought back.

That's a little vague for my liking... hope there aren't too many manufactured hits used as buybacks. Hopefully there will be a checklist of the buybacks, although that's probably wishful thinking.

All Tim rose autos, teranishi sketches, and chrome Jedi/Sith medallions lmao

I don't see how that any worse than getting a medallion, the buybacks will replace medallions. As long as there are a few big buybacks, I'm okay with some low level ones as well. The worst thing that could happen to this set is overproduction

Interesting. So I could pull some crazy retro sketches from 30th or the Galaxy series'? That would be awesome. However the flip side of this coin is mentioned above. Teranishi and Tim Rose auto's. Yikes.

This is an interesting move by Topps, however looking simply to Panini Replay is what really scares me. What content are we talking about here? Where are they getting these buyback anyway? Are they scouring eBay and picking up singles like the average guy or have they simply walked over to the Topps Customer Service department and emptied the replacement or "missing hit" bins? Lots of questions..

I've been tempted to buy a case of Star Wars for a while now, and decided a couple weeks ago to put a pre-order in for the 40th. Now that there's more info coming out, it's getting me even more excited!

Question is if I want a 2nd... haha.. wife may not approve though

I like the poster cards as an insert set.

Wow, that booklet would be a great centerpiece to any collection. I don't normally even like multiple auto cards either. My only nitpick would be to swap chewy and C3POs spots.

You hit that card, what do you do? You collect Star Wars and you know you'll never have anything that nice since it might be the top Star Wars card ever. But it'll sell, and sell very nicely. Do you keep or do you sell?

If I would be able to keep the excitement from my wife (99 percent chance I would not) I would keep it. If my wife knew I landed that card it would be sold

So... It would end up being sold

Probably sell it if it sells for stupid money. Not a card in my collection that I wouldn't sell if the right price came along because, at the end of the day, I'll die and all my cards will probably be sold off anyways.

No question. Keep it. I'm not opening cases to only keep random $5 autos. I'm opening to build the best possible collection.

Regardless of what I do or don't pull in the future I'd always have an amazing collection with that card as a centerpiece.

I don't know how any true fan couldn't keep it. This would be the biggest card ever made, even if you have all of them on card before, something like this will likely never get repeated.

Sure, if you really needed the cash, I get it, but it'd be very hard to let go of it.

Easily $17,000 or more, I'd assume. I also wonder if this would lower value of the triple auto from chrome, since this is now the best card to have?

I think I would sell the card. I already have in person, personalized autographs of everyone on that card except for Ford. I have a very nice Ford autograph on a poster I purchased from Official Pix, his autograph is larger than it is on trading cards and no issue of him signing off the sticker. The quality of the autograph is more important to me than how rare or valuable the card is. I mainly collect autograph cards for actors I have not met in person or have a signed photo/poster of already. I'm going to buy a signed Felicity Jones photo from Topps versus her auto card. It all depends on how you like to collect autographs.
