In my experiences, GTS usually reacts to, and reports date changes faster than the retailers. I would put money on 5/3 as the date.........for now....

I think you answered your own question. I believe authorized dealers have direct accounts, so if Upperdeck hadn't told them, why would they modify snything?

I have mixed feelings. On one hand, I'd love for this set to come out in Jan/Feb/Mar, convention off season. On the other hand, I'm sitting on first pick in the group break.

Any chance for some links or what sites to see these. This set has been a yo yo of waiting. And agreed same day as 40th not the best move. June prolly been better in refelection or it's original release date of April wouldn't been bad.

But least the people that paid in the group break and got good picks-looking at you Spider Fan- now get to enjoy that sooner than expected.

I don't mind waiting. I had first spot in group break where we were missing a hit and waited like a month for Upperdeck to send replacement cards.

I am hoping for a strong case though

For any that remember the Spider-Man theme song from way back when, think you'll get a kick out of this you tube advertisement for this release.

I'd be okay if one of those was in the first group break inner.

Can somebody explain how e-packs work in terms of pack odds? How can you be sure it isn't watering down the content in physical cases?

(disclaimer: I haven't purchased e-packs at all)
So far, each e-pack release has been different. MM2016 had *better* odds than physical, where Dr Strange had what seemed to be a completely different product than physical.
Marvel Annual is mostly digital, with the ability to consolidate X number of cards into one physical card. Makes it FAR more expensive than just buying a physical box for $60

UD is clearly flying by the seat of their pants on the e-pack side.

Geez. That's some fantastic work. Will this set fly under the radar at all cause of 40th?

the epack odds are different than the hobby box odds (just like retail vs hobby)... To some extent, I think they are just watering down the content in physical cases, at least for these "late to epack" releases.

Hard to say without a posted list, and hard to say without elaborating. I mean, the most valuable sketch cards may not be the "best" sketch cards in terms of detail or what is considered "high quality" in a typical set. UDE has a tendency to sneak in a few cards by the likes of Jusko, Neil Adams, Sales Buscemi, and others. They may be simple compared to an Acar or Perna, but they will be just as sought after. Plus, with this being a premium set and knowing some of the artists that did base card artwork, there could be some super rare sketch card gems out there. Hard to say just yet.

Cause I like showing it off and to show like Spider-Fan says how upper deck can be sneaky, here's a Jusko sketch that was pulled in Marvel Gems.. I'm sure hoping for surprises like this are in this release.
