Sounds to me like Upper Deck is going the epack route now. I don't think these numbers will equate to physical box inserts will they?

115 ish sketch card artists
I took each artist doing 10 cards (which I would think is low)
that is 1150 sketch cards
Falling roughly between 1 and 2 per case

would put cases at 1150 plus

Estimates based on the odds

I feel this is the "physical release" checklist.

5 total cards per pack = 60 cards per box
3 Base cards per pack = 36 base cards per box
2 inserts per pack = 24 inserts per box

The box breakdown is in the "Product Details" section. I don't know really know how to think that the odds provided are anything but "physical release" based on the information given.

Futhermore...when Dr. Strange came there was a seperate epack checklist.

Very discouraging if this is the case..

All this speculation could have been avoided if UD would just participate in spreading its own marketing message.

I do not have the feeling for, or funds for, Marvel Retro: Spider-man edition.

I agree, wish I could counter that, but I cant.

Can you inquire if there are 1 or 2 big hits per box? Or will there be boxes with no real big time hit (example: sketches or autos)?

The checklist is odd in that if it's for the physical release, why include ePack achievements?

I really enjoyed collecting MM16 and thought this would be similar, but with the checklist, ehh... The art will have to be spectacular to make this worth going after a "master set."

I also collect the Marvel Retro cards, which I think is okay, but not up to par with MM16. I'm more into the art than collecting all the shiny inserts.

UD is real slick with the checklist--only including either the odds or # printed on each parallel, making it impossible to get a gauge on the case count. We really need both to get a solid ballpark estimate.

As far as I know, MM16 had both the odds and # printed put out before the release, correct?

By the way, how different was MM16 between the physical and ePack releases?

There was no difference with MM16 for epack and hobby release. All epack MM16 were actually cards. There were no combine 10 cards to get a redeemable card.

I would agree that they do have a way of avoiding any concrete facts...however, as a shop owner, I believe I have enough information to go on here...

It was the same exact product in physical and epack form. I was really hoping that this would go on epack the same way but looking back that was probably a lot of work for them to scan every single card from each pack. This is probably why it took so long for the Jusko set to hit epacks.

Were the odds for inserts any different? I read posts implying that the ePacks were "loaded," that the odds for getting rare inserts were better than for the physical release.

If you bought by box, no.

If you bought loose, it sometime appeared to be.

IMO I think it was selling so fast that many people benefited from others losing out on dud packs.

2 Sketches per master case
2 Holoblasts per master case
2 Jambaylay's per master case

and a 1:91-box chance at a Plexi-Sketch. Those are some numbers that stood out to me. I know there are other hits (PMG's, auto's, comic cuts, ect) but......

$1800 per case or so right now? Evan at the pre-sale price $1250+ I can't see it being worth that.

At 1,500 cases that would be 1 per box and on par with Retro.

I tried to do rough numbers but got overwhelmed with all the low number parallels but I'm thinking another box hit will be one of these low numbered cards or a sketch or a coin card, etc.

There are literally 4,900 #'D to 49 auto base and 4,450 #'D 29 or 30 buybacks. Add in the rest and you can see how you can easily reach 15,000-18,000 cards.

If that is the case, value might be there.

Sweet, thanks for asking! Wouldn't be surprised if its like 1 #'99 or less card per box.

Ahh, that makes perfect sense. Thanks. Makes me feel better buying only physical boxes of MM16 , missing the ePacks by several months.

I pre-ordered one mini-case of six boxes of Spider-man and was waiting for more info to decide to buy more. I'm getting 60 packs and with sketches at 1:80 odds, I'm not even guaranteed one sketch. I'm hoping for the best from the set, but I can wait until Black Friday when I believe this set will reach rock bottom, lol.

Adding Bronze /199 PMG's is just overkill at its finest.

PMG's are Red/Blue/Green. That is all they need. Golds are cool, but now puples /5 and Bronze /199? Geez.

I thought some of the recent Panini soccer release checklists were big, but they have nothing on this release here.

Well it was easier to finish missing sets on epack. That's what I did and was very pleased with that aspect.

I have a mini-case + 3 boxes preordered but am debating dropping the loose boxes and apply that to GoTG. This product scares me. Was really hoping for a sketch every box or at worse every other box.

Not sure what I should do. I know I'll be purging items I'm not chasing quickly though to recoup what I can.

The thing I don't like about this epack carry on, is for instance how many PMG golds are in physical vs epacks..? Nobody will ever know right?
