So, I'm playing around with Twitter and following a few celebrities for the fun of it. I see a tweet by Leonard Nimoy and start following him. I've been a big Star Trek fan since the 60s and collect the autographed cards as well.
About a week ago I was checking Twitter and saw that Mr. Nimoy was offering a signed card of his if you bought a t-shirt at his website. He's known for his photography as much as his acting. He said he had about 100 and I jumped at the offer (which didn't last long). Today I got a cool "LLAP" t-shirt and this... ![]() The copyright says 2010 so he must have a deal to get copies for himself. The original SkyBox ones were years ago. Live Long and Prosper, VinnyH

I collect Star Trek autos and his signed cards from the sets are near $300. This newer version will fit nicely in my binder but now I need a Kirk, Scotty, and Bones. Best to All, Vinny

Back when skybox was doing the signings of that design, the pre-cut card plates were sent out to the signers -- they'd get a stack of these things, two cards per plate. Skybox also included 10 extras for the signers to keep and hand out themselves, and 6 extras for skybox for their master sets/insert promos.
They were pretty cool, though I've only managed to pick up one of these plates over the years.

I'm sorry but I wouldn't get one of those shirts even if they were free. Man they are butt ugly!!! Getting a Nimoy auto would be cool, but having to get a shirt like that in order to obtain one...no thanks.
Edit: Heck with it, ugly or not I want a Nimoy auto! I bought a tree man shirt! WOO HOO Last edited by Bum Dawg; 01-05-2011 at 12:04 AM. Reason: Changed mind |
