McGregor isn't anti-star wars so much as anti-autograph. He's stated repeatedly he hates signing because he feels people will just sell it and it's not going to fans. Christiansen bought a ranch or something like that and retired from acting basically because of star wars. So he's gone off radar and I doubt he'd sign. Portman hates the films, hates being associated with the films, and is now an academy award winning actor. It's possible the 3 of them could soften their stance over time, but I have trouble envisioning Portman ever needing the money given what she now makes per film.

Yeah, McGregor is all gung-ho to get back into the Star Wars universe. He's not shy at all about wanting to reprise his role as Obi-Wan.

We are not asking them to show up in person for a convention.
They must know that cards of them are still being made, so it would be little effort for cards to be sent to them to be signed and then sent back.
I realize I am thinking of this like a "normal" person LOL!

Of the 3, I say Christiansen would sign if he needed money. McGregor is less likely given his opinion of autographs, but he does seem to like Star Wars. If they got Portman to sign I'd probably die of shock. But big time stars have signed for other products so I'd say it's not completely impossible but her stance on just how much she hates the franchise makes it seem very unlikely.

I don't see Portman ever signing anything since its not only SW she never signed but never signed for Marvel either when they did the Thor movie cards. Its like getting Sean Connery for James Bond, never going to happen imo.
Christiansen signed once for SW so he might sign again one day.Same with Samuel L Jackson.
McGregor should realize that in the end, a fan will eventually end up with his autograph if someone sells it for whatever reason.
Don't know if Topps is even pursuing getting these autographs so who knows.

I imagine it'd have to be for a high-end set. Maybe if they ever do some super premium product you'll see them aggressively go after the big signers and pull out all the stops.

I would think actors have a different take on signing a free auto for an adult that they believe is just looking to sell it, as opposed to signing for Topps.
1) They are getting paid to do so. The end buyer can do what they want with it
2) Since it is now a collectible, it is more likely to be obtained by someone that wants it to keep rather than flip it.

I'd say Ewan's already come around:

I think it's only a matter of time before he's back in the robes.
