Default Card Collecting for Toddlers?

My toddler really likes playing with cards. Sorting, matching - that sort of stuff. I wanted to get her some non -sport cards but I wasn't really sure what a fun brand would be. Anyone else have young children into collecting? What do they seem to like? Thanks!

Not exactly cards, but panini has those sticker books for kids. They sell them at Walmart and target in the card section. I've seen them for sports and cartoons.

My daughter likes any cards because they're like what daddy does. I picked up some free small binders from Upper Deck at The National last year, she loves putting ANY cards in them.

She also likes drawing her own sketch cards. Using the blank decoy cards from packs works great.

The Hello Kitty cards, BUT the cards come packed with a small plastic toy that is NOT toddler friendly. So you would need to open them for her and throw out the small plastic toy.

Whatever is cheap, brightly colored, and cartoony. Webkins comes to mind.

Yeah, Yo Gabba Gabba (I just looked them up and they have music box booklet cards as a hit! Basically you open the card and it plays a 30 second clip from the show's soundtrack!) along with Webkins would be super cheap breaks. Those Hello Kitty packs are ULTRA cheap online (100 packs for 30 bucks!) but that toy figure needs to be removed somehow. Finding Nemo boxes are also rather affordable. Looking some more stuff up, I see some Skylanders cards that are bright and colorful as well.

Alternatively you could do something homemade and make 'packs' for her to open out of team bags with colorful pictures you either print out from online or cut out from some other product like flash cards you buy. And because they're resealable you could always reuse the team bag again for her to 'rebreak' the pack but with different contents.

BO has tons of old 90s cards for crazy cheap. Lots of Disney properties.

Upper deck two or three years ago had a Dinosaur set that looked really amazing. My kid was only one at the time so it wasn't quite the right time. Not sure if you can even get the boxes anymore, the print run seemed pretty low.

But my toddler is off and on cards. One week he loves looking at them and sorting them, the next week they're just in the way.

That Dino set is pretty nice but the asking price for a box... still about 100 bucks! It had some amazing hits though. Fossil relics with jawbones and teeth among other things.

Thanks for all the help everyone. I found a LCS that sells loose Pokemon cards for $0.05 so I might start there and see how it goes.

My girlfriend found packs of Upper Deck Moana cards for her 7 year old today at Dollar Tree. Packs of 4 cards for $1, no inserts and it appears the base is 20 cards (P1-P20 that form a puzzle on the reverse).

Good call! OP should hit up the Dollar tree and see what packs they have.
