Default Horrors of War 1938 Display Box promotion

Horrors of War 1938 Display Box promotion

Every 10-box case of Horrors of War will contain a redemption card for a 1938 Horrors of War boxed-set display box. In addition to selling Horrors of War gum cards in packs with bubble gum, the set of all 240 cards was available in a special boxed set edition. This is the box in which the 240 cards were sold. The 1938, Gum, Inc. Horrors of War display box (20 x 10.75) once held a complete set of low-number Horrors of War non-sports cards #1-240.

This box is designed with an uncut sheet displaying 16-cards glued to the top lid with an advertisement in the center. The underside of the top lid has detailed descriptions of the Horrors of War series and also general information related to card collecting.

The box is bright and clean, perfectly rectangular, and in completely un-restored original condition. The top of the box has three torn corner seams and some very minor edge wear but displays beautifully and is in excellent condition.

Simply complete the information on the card and send the completed card to the address noted on the card. The redemption will be held on December 7, 2011 and one collector will receive the 1938 Horrors of War display box shown above.

Thanks Blowout for the reminder to our collectors.

This display box is amazing so if you have an entry card, please send it off to us immediately.

I will be making the draw personally.

Brian,
I'd be curious to know how many entries you have received since the drawing is quite close now.

So it is not really a redemption but an entry into a random drawing to win the item.

Correct. He doesn't have 40 of them.

We have a winner. Last night I personally pulled the winning entry for the 1938 Horrors of War display box.

The winner is:

Steve Wozniak
1516 Ave. De Las Adelsas,
Encinitas, CA
92024-4714

Congratulations to Steve and thank you to all the collectors who participated in this draw.

Hello from the HOW display box winner--

The parcel just got here, and I am truly impressed with that fantastic collector's item. Your ingenious packaging with all of the nesting boxes and bubble wrap made getting to it seem like a treasure hunt. I was worried about the possibility of the box incurring damage in transit, but anything short of a direct hit by a meteor wasn't even going to faze it. It was much larger than I had imagined, but if I had thought about it carefully, I would have eventually calculated that it had to be the jumbo size that it turned out to be. You're right about the top being a partial sheet of actual cards glued down with the sales blurb pasted thereon. I wonder if all specimens have the same sample sheet or if every one is different. Figuring that out will keep me pleasantly diverted over the winter break.

Thank you again for making my holiday--and year. Best regards and a prosperous new year to you all, and may your next endeavor be as successful as this project was for all of us collectors who are addicted to anything related to that 1938 classic issue and its 2011 descendant.--Steve Wozniak
