Exactly Cubfan, I will be testing the retails if I can find any locally.

I checked Blowout today, and was a bit surprised to see no boxes/cases available for WDS2. I wonder how long ago they stopped selling?

Also, it looks as if I may have to move my retail shop. For this reason, I may let go of a personal case or two of this, so let me know if any of you guys are still looking for boxes/cases. Thanks.

I really do think Blowout is going to hold back whatever supply they have left till release and possibly jack the price back up to $200. I agree with a lot of people on here, there will be a feeding frenzy on this stuff once it's out, I just have no clue where the resale of the singles is going to fall.

I hate retail, long odds and the loose packs are almost always searched.

Yep, I assume all packs at the store and on ebay are searched. I even assumed loose Walking Dead boxes on ebay were without the case hit (sketches in this case) so I wouldn't even buy those (I know it's not the case with all sellers but I would rather just buy from one of the online retailers).

However, if I go to Walmart and find a full box worth of retail packs (and they're not disturbed/thrown all over the shelf), I might give in to temptation and buy some.

I wouldn't. They'll be $3 a piece with 24-36 in the box. I would rather spend the $140 to ensure that I will get all the stuff that comes with a hobby box.

Value wise, a hobby box is definitely the way to go, but I doubt I'll be buying any more boxes than the 4 or 6 I'll be getting. If I'm shopping and see them there, I would probably buy a couple packs just for fun.

That's a good way to look at it. I see people spend hundreds on retail and get skunked. Then they wonder why they didn't get anything.

Oh I would never spend a lot on retail when I can get guaranteed hits in hobby lol. I know where you're coming from, I see that on the sports forums all the time.

The only reason to break lots of retail is if there are cards that are exclusive to retail packs.

+1.

The ONLY cards I buy retail are magic cards, unless I'm desperate to just try something. I bought 1 baseball blaster this year, and it was garbage. Might as well have ripped up my $20 bill.

The other reason to buy retail, at least in sports, is that it is occasionally available before hobby. First to market often yields huge dividends, especially for perceived "sp" cards. There are also situations like chrome football where many of the colored refractors are worth far more than some of the "hits," and retail provides similar odds to hobby for those refractors.

But in general, I agree

I realize this thread is in regards to Season 2 trading cards, but I figured I may as well give this a try. Does anyone have a duplicate autograph of Daryl from Season 1? I bought a case back in January but was unable to get one. I had many chances to buy it afterwards for $50 but at the time, thought it was too much. I'm looking to trade and have quite a few Walking Dead Season 1 cards and some cash as well. I may have some other things also but I just really need one for my collection. Anyone have one?

$50 in my opinion was a great price...then and now.

But can you please make a thread is the B/S/T section?

Seeing prices now, I agree. Wish I would have gotten it then. Thing is, I never thought it would be worth that much. These Walking Dead cards brought me into the trading card world.
