A guy pmed me asking if I still had a lot I had posted in my thread, I replied saying I did and asked if he wanted it. He replied sure, whats your paypal. I sent him my paypal addy(this was at night). After not receiving the paypal that night, I thought maybe he went to bed and was going to send it to me the next day. No big deal. But when I awake, I have a pm saying he may have found something else he wanted to spend his money on and may no longer be taking my lot. Is this okay? Or was it a "deal" and he backed out?

As much as one might like to think otherwise, a deal aint a deal until the seller has been paid the agreed upon price. While I will let others who may inquire about a card or lot know that it is "on hold" pending payment, it is still in play until payment is made. That being said, there are always exceptions for folks that you have a history with (hell, I have waiting weeks for payment on rare occasions but will honor it because the buyer had bought thousands of dollars from me over the years).

It seems pretty clear cut.
When the buyer and seller both agree on the price and payment method the deal is locked in. At this point it would be wrong for the buyer not to pay just as it would be wrong for the seller to turn around and sell to someone else. |

So, a similar thing has now happened to me. "Starscreams" has backed out on a Sean Bean autograph. 2 weeks ago we agreed upon a price, $130. He asks me to wait 2 weeks, which I had no problems with. Fast forward 2 weeks, and he now claims to have opened one in a box. I believe it's due to the declining price in the card. Quite honestly I'm fine keeping the card, but it's crappy to do this. Someone opened 5 cases and did not get one, yet he buys 3 boxes and gets one?? hm... Anyways I just thought I'd warn all of you what he did to me. It's bs quite honestly.
