Talk about customer service! I had purchased a pack of the Cryptids cards a couple of weeks ago. After seeing the latest previews, I ordered another pack a few days ago. Viceroy Cards combined the shipping for the two orders and refunded me the difference, which they in no way had to do! Very classy, and a bit surprising for a company that is just starting out and probably watching every penny in expenditures. Big thumbs up!

That's awesome, I don't know of any companies that would do that either.

Quick update:

Packs are being shipped today and tomorrow, so depending on how far you live from Las Vegas everyone should be opening their packs very soon!

Also, we're nearly sold out but had planned on selling the remaining packs at the Las Vegas Comic Expo this weekend. We may still share a table/booth, or we might just attend as collectors if we're almost sold out. If anyone is going to be there, let us know! Again we might skip having a table since we don't have much left to sell, but we'll be on hand walking around.

I think I need to upgrade the Viceroymobile™ before the next release, but I made it work for shipping out packs today! (even if it did take multiple trips)

Judging from the size of that middle box, it looks like someone really stocked up on these cards!

Also, sweet ride! It's almost as nice as my '74 lime green Pinto!

'74 Pinto's are cool, especially lime green! Too few cars made today are done in unique colors.

We had several collectors order 10-20 packs, which is what you saw there in the medium flat rate box. There were more of those in the trunk as well. I wanted to take them all directly to the main Post Office hub instead of worrying about office pick up and anything being misplaced.

It was pretty interesting to watch as orders came in, and where they originated. One aspect of this set was that once we added the cryptozoologist autos and those involved began telling their fans about the set, our target market was split in two.

I'd say overall we've had an even mix of sketch collectors, and cryptozoology fans who are more interested in the autos/stamp relic. Maybe leaning slightly more towards sketch collectors with some of the larger orders. A lot of those cryptozoology fans bought 5 packs in hopes of getting the 5 autographs, while most of our 1 pack orders came from that group as well. We were kinda surprised about how popular the autos became since they were basically a bonus/afterthought.

The multitude of sketch collector orders were 3 packs, since we offered the free shipping option at 3+ per order. We also had about 10 different orders where a second or third order was placed by the same collector as they saw more previews, and we combined them into one larger order.

Overall it's been a really fun debut product for everyone involved. I'm coming from the collector side of things, so it has been really interesting looking at it from the other side.

One thing I quickly realized: No matter which decision you make, some will love it and some will think it was a huge mistake! Some people like the fact that the set didn't focus on girls in skimpy outfits, while others told me that's the only thing sketch collectors care about, and the product is doomed. DOOMED!

I like getting the feedback though, both good and bad. Although, it's a little funny when people complain about the non-licensed theme, I ask them which themes they would like to see instead, and they tell me we need to get Star Wars or Marvel or it's not worth doing at all.

We're going to try some new things though, so it should be pretty fun. Sorry for the rambling, we're all just really excited for people to start opening packs tomorrow and Friday.

If you are looking for suggestions for a licensed product for a later release, I know one that would just be outstanding for a premium sketch/auto set:

Rocky Horror Picture Show!

Just thinking about it makes me shiver with antica...

...pation.

Rocky Horror would be a good one for sure. As a member of the Viceroy design team, if we're able to get a license, I want to finally make a Big Lebowski set as well.

The tracking link was in my email that Paypal sent that the package had shipped, and on the payment in Paypal.

Rocky Horror would be a really fun set!

I always wanted to see a Hackers movie trading card set, with dual autographs of Jonny Lee Miller and Angelina Jolie. Hack the Planet!

Might be a little tough to pull off, but we could do Jolie's as a cut auto.

Aside from that, I'm going to try and get that Lebowski license to fulfill the dream of Beardy haha. Every single sketch card will be a version of the pencil rub sketch from Jackie Treehorn. I'll hold off posting the image here, but you guys know what I'm talking about.

Will you guys be releasing the number of sketches each artist completed for the Cryptids set?
