Take $1000 for a Walking Dead Rick Badge?

Would you take $1000 if you had one? Don't really need the money but it brings up an interesting discussion.

- Haven't seen one in about 6 months (other than mine)
- Only 11 have been redeemed with no movement in the last 3-4 months

Thoughts?

I mean you could probably pay off a full case of Series Two with that. I know it's rare and all so it's a tough choice. Tough choice for sure. My opinion, would hold onto it since I love the show and likewise, don't need the money all that much. The card is a beaut, I'd hang onto it.

Just a thought. Everyone may be waiting for the season to start again to sell. So taking a 1K now may be the wise choice.

Did you get one of the full ones? I am addicted to the show, got into it middle of season 2. I def want to crack some of this product but it seems so expensive now

I get the feeling everyone will be focused on S2 once it's released and even those that wanted this card will be on to the next one with the S2 chase(s). And even those that are looking to get into Walking Dead cards for the first time, I think the outrageous prices of S1 boxes will lead them to put all their efforts into S2. I don't really buy that prices and demand for S1 cards will kick up once S3 premiers.

I would hold out. I don't think a thousand is enough anymore. $1200 maybe.

If so, the thread would be asking if he should take $7500 for it.

what does the card look like? Thats a cool pull, is there any word on the autograph signers for the second series?

Look at my auctions.

Very sweet piece

Brobocop 08-19-2012 03:38 PM

So I assume you sold it for the $1,000 or did you get more for it?

Igman7 08-19-2012 04:56 PM

My guess is that it is staying right where it is.

if you dont need the money , i am williing to take the money from you after the sale :)

how many cases are still out there and how many are getting opened at current prices

I'm keeping it. The offer was more than generous and it would've set the secondary market for this card on fire, trust me.

But, this was a "no turning back" moment. If I sold the Patch, I would've also sold the Wardrobe set, inserts and base set that I have. And then just focused on the Autographs. I'm excited for what CZE is going to do with Season 2 and beyond.

That was mine too. The o.p. bought it for $750, so why sell for only $250-350 more anyways?

What if it was substantially more than $750?

Brobocop 08-19-2012 09:16 PM

I think you made the right choice to keep the set. I know UFC is a sport and Walking Dead is a TV show but this show really hit it's stride at the end of Season Two. Season Three looks even better and now there are talks about a possible movie. My point is look how hard it is to track down UFC Series 1 now, who knows, if you wanna sell this down the road when the show is red hot you could get substantially more. Either way I think you made a great decision to keep the card and your sets as it's quite impressive and probably even more rare. Hats off!
What if it was substantially more than $750?
What's your definition of "substantial" ? I'd only let it go at $1400 or more. That's my % of margin though.

Unless $$ is needed, and it doesn't seem that's the situation here.
