Indiana Jones Heritage painted card -Jerry Vanderstelt - eBay (item 260218646029 end time Mar-20-08 07:00:00 PDT)

I hope at least some of the cards in packs are as nice as this one is.
HOLY CRAP!!! That may be the cleanest and most impressive sketch I have ever seen. I just wish some of the artist that "Show off" their work on the Non-sport board would not just show off the cream of the crop. It would be better to get an overall idea of what to expect and not see only prime examples only to get a B&W drawing that took less than 5 minutes to do.
Incarnadine,
Do you think this product has a chance of coming close to SW 30th? I am really curious to see how it goes the first week or 2 after release.

Here is a post from another board:

Rumor has it that sketches are 1:42 packs, autos are 1;42 packs and #'d/500 parallels are 1:18 packs. Case wise that would be 4 sketches, 4 autos and 10 parallels.

With those odds on parallels, that means that they're producing about 3400 cases.

I would be happy with 4 sketches from a case. (better than 1 or 2). This is just a rumor I read from another board.

BB

I'm curious myself to see if TOPPS gets back on track. After the costume debacle with Heroes then the crappy repeat-a-sketches from LOTR Masterpieces 2 I'm very wary about TOPPS releases now. I actually didn't order any Indy yet, after paying off my Women of Marvel case and buying up Heroes artist returned sketches (I just bought my 6th one, a gorgeous Niki by Leah Mange I'll be posting in the Heroes thread in a minute) I simply ran out of $$$ for cards for a little while. I may yet get a case but now that I heard Heroes 2 is going forward I may concentrate on that, though I'll be treading carefully on that one too.

Can someone please explain what 'returned sketches' are? Are these cards that were not allowed to be put into products or just something the company returns as a bonus for nice work?

Yup, they are a bonus for the artists. TOPPS only pays $1.50 per sketch card but the artists also get to pick 6 sketches that will be returned to them as part of their payment, in a lot of cases these are the best sketches they do for the set and depending on the set and the artist they can sell very high, in some cases well over $1000 each. Just look up Bellinger Sketch on ebay under completed auctions, his returned sketches for LOTR Masterpieces 2 are averaging about $1200 so far, although his pack inserted cards are probably averaging $800-$900 because his work is so good accross the board.

Those sketches are just amazing.

That would be a great ratio if it were true.

I made every sketch I did available to view, including the ones I didn't like as well as others.

Autographs 1:42
Sketches 1:54
Parallels 1:18

These are the odds for Indiana Jones Heritage. This person said this came right off the pack.
