Beginnings OR Masterpieces?

looking into buying some boxes today to hit some nice marvel sketches, id try premier but it's not in my budget right now...there's not many choices for my budget so its between Marvel Beginnings 2 OR Marvel Masterpieces 2 (or i could go with Thor/Captain America)...

just won't be that happy due to all the base cards (not tryin to set build) a really nice sketch would make it easier to deal with but would like some input before i decide lol - thanks!

either that or go the 5Finity route & get some GalaxGals sketch packs like ive opened in the past, 4pks = 6 sketches, most at least get the value back (not like i wanna sell all, some interest me more than others)

If you are doing Thor or Captain America, just be aware that not all boxes have a sketch. In Captain America you usually got 8-10 sketches per 12 box case, I think for Thor it was more like 6-8.

Yea, went through some old threads & was lookin pretty rough. Also found some Iron Man, Batman & Fantastic Four Archives boxes for decent price, those are other options too.

- My only sport choice is almost a full case of Donruss BKB Blasters

Still don't know what to choose, some of the Batman Archives sketches are nice. Fantastic 4 doesn't really do anything for me. Beginnings & Masterpieces are still on my list but I really don't want to hit a sketch with no color (seems like masterpieces has more of those)

also added Greatest Heroes & DC52 to the possible list (all around same price)

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but in the Iron Man 1 boxes, are all the sketches of Iron Man??..and nothing else?

- if it matters I'm lookin at getting 2-3 boxes

Honestly, if you are hot on busting sketches from a box you are probably best off with Premier even though its a little high priced. Beginnings doesn't pull a sketch in every box. So if your not interested in holos, plates, and autos you might be pretty damn disappointed. The box prices for Masterpiece are pretty damn high. Even with Premier at $200 per box, you are guaranteed at least 1 single panel sketch and 1 multi panel sketch per box. And right now the base cards are going for $20-$50 a pop on some auction sites. I guess there really are crazies trying to make a base set. I was all out on Premier as a sketch card collector, but if I can pick up a couple boxes at $175/ea and get back $50+ per box on the non sketches I might just go ahead and buy a couple. Even at $200/ea its probably a smarter buy than going in on Beginnings.
