Wow dude, I am brand new to this forum and I gotta say I love this sketch thread! Those are some beautiful cards man, I also really like the Elvin Hernandez cards I've seen on here.

I've noticed a lot of people using Photobucket on this forum, is that the preferred image manager? I've been using imgur but I think I would like to post some of my sketch cards in a thread and I'm not sure if you guys prefer one over the other.

When I need big images I use my Wordpress blog at sketchcardsaloon.com but if you only need smaller pics you can store and share here:

Thanks--I appreciate it Yeah, Elvin Hernandez is an artist I've really taken notice of from what he did for premier.

As for what image manager to use--I've always used Photobucket, so it's just a habit for me. It does all I need and is easy for me to do uploads and manage what I have into subfolders. I've heard other people say they really like imgur, though.

Rian mentioned Sketchcollectors.com, which I think is a good idea as well if you will be focusing on sketch cards. I've set up an account there, but I was waiting until my collection stabilizes a bit before I copy my sketch card scans over there. I like that you can search by artist in other people's collections and it has a more standardized organization model than what you'd see in Photobucket, which of course works for them since it's focused on just one type of image.

I see you picked up a few Cherry cards. I started with Marvel, picked up a few Shi and now I'm totally addicted to the 5finity stuff! I'm waiting on a couple of AEs and then I'm going to post my Cherry set (at Scoundrel).

Yeah, I'm sort of taking a sample of several different sets and companies to see what I like right now. The 5finity stuff is fun and also nice when you don't have a lot of money you can get some pretty good stuff.

Yeah the 5finity stuff is cheaper for the most part, but there are artists/cards that pull a pretty nice buck for a single panel. If your interested you should email Steve about getting on his mailing list for the next release. Also, check out the Perna Studios thread over at Scoundrel. That stuff looks pretty good. I'm going to try and get in on the upcoming Spellcasters set.

I know from an artistic standpoint, realism is not the highest measure of artistic ability, but sometimes it's pretty damn impressive especially when it's not of something real and it's on a tiny sketch card

It really is amazing. I don't love everything he does, but the stuff I like I really like. His PSCs are really not that bad pricewise either. And it seems you can get his commission auctions for around $50-75.
