My box is on the way from DA..scheduled for Tuesday, so hopefully I can pull a good sketch.

Thought about buying two boxes but decided on buying a few different boxes and my gf a surprise box. So fingers crossed my one box is a hit

Because I don't see most of the sketches bringing more than $30 on re-sale.

Just for example:

9 sketches @ $30 each = $270
2 sketches @ $50 each = $100
1 sketch @ $100 each = $100
11 base sets @ $5 each = $55

Assuming that I keep a base set, foil set, and 3 insert sets for myself; these figures represent a loss of almost $200. Factor in another 16% for applicable fees and I've lost another $75 or so, putting the loss at $275. In a few months, I'll be able to get all these sets for under $100 total.

I've sold my case and binder for a loss of around $60, which I think is a better deal that getting some cards and losing nearly $300. I didn't even want the case, I just bought it to remain in good standing for when Walking Dead hits every year.

Makes sense, was just curious.

I want to pick up skeches form this set, but the BIN prices are way to high IMO. In theory once more hit eBay the should drop, I hope.

Then again most of the New 52 sketch cards still have way to high BIN IMO.

Sketch market sure is different then sports. Hardly any auction style, most BIN.

I agree--the BINs are a bit high right now, although I picked up a few I liked. I don't mind overpaying a little for things I like since I'm not really concerned about flipping them, but the lower-end stuff needs to come down a lot.

I agree, these will all just get framed together and go in the "room". But to over pay, needs to be something I love, not just really like.

Few I really like right now, but not at the prices.

LOL--I know what you mean.

I fell in love with this one: Batman The Legend Cryptozoic Batman Sketch Jez Rojales | eBay

I don't know how badly I overpaid for it, but I couldn't really come up with a price in my head either--other work from this artist that has sold does not look like this. It was a matter of did I want someone else to end up with this one. Once the answer is no, it's all over for me

I like that sketch, you are right even tougher when an artist comes out of left field with a piece!

Waiting for the guy here who busted 4 cases to post them on eBay. Few in there I might love....for the right price

See, that's what I'm talking about. That is a beautiful sketch and we're thinking that $60 was a stretch. You have to open this set because you like it, not because you want to make money.

Like I said, I didn't even want it.

Any good links to the listings or are there just a few cards up on the bay?

I got my box because I love batman, so interested in piecing together the entire base set. And I have my fingers crossed I pull a good sketch. Whatever sketch I pull imma put on eBay and I'll be happy with at least just getting my money back for the 1 box I bought...so $59.95. More would be nice though

I'll know Tuesday when it arrives

I think the market has changed in way that will make it really difficult for anybody to rip-n-flip and even break even unless they have a real store and can buy at dealer prices.

Batman will go the route of the past couple of releases (Bronze Age, Premier) - The smaller dealers that get their stuff up right away will do well and pull a decent price for the cards they sell. As time goes on the BINs will drop and drop and auctions will end lower and lower. After all, here is a new release just around the corner.

I know she posts on most of the non-sports card forums, and posts her case breaks. Seems like she always busts at least 3-5 cases of pretty much every product, and then sells the items on ebay.

The only thing I have bought on ebay from her is some Breygent SDCC packs, and they were shipped quickly.

Better to send a message outside of eBay if you are looking to deal

Gem in the rough for that artist. After I saw it, I rather think you paid a good price. I'm jealous!
