ALLIED & AXIS LEADERS of the SECOND WORLD WAR- Autograph card collection *scan heavy

ALLIES:

HARRY TRUMAN- USA

FRANKLIN ROOSEVELT- USA

CHARLES DEGAULLE- FRANCE

CHIANG KAI-SHEK- CHINA

WINSTON CHURCHILL- GREAT BRITAIN

JOSEF STALIN- SOVIET UNION

Stalin's autograph has been the single most difficult signature for me to even find and the prices asked are out of my reach right now...so Stalin's signature might not happen for me. :(

AXIS:

BENITO MUSSOLINI- ITALY

ADOLF HITLER- GERMANY

HIDEKI TOJO- JAPAN

Tojo is another one that is hard to find. I almost had one this summer, but got outbid at the last minute.

I am at a crossroads right now with this collection. I could continue to search for a Stalin and Tojo or I could sell it all and go after my next project. So if anyone wants everything posted by me in this thread just send me a pm with an offer. Thanks for letting me show off my latest project!

Awesome stuff. I LOVE WWII stuff, and wold love to have that all - but alas, I don't have the kind of scratch needed for it :)

Biggest regret I have is selling off my Horrors of War WWII cut autos. Had about 40 of them.

Holy cow--what an amazing collection you have :)!

Thanks for sharing those!

Very cool, I see all the Horrors of War, 1600 and Oval Office openers have looked here!

really, really cool. thanks for sharing.

Definitely complete the collection. That all together in a display would make an amazing showpiece. I think all together it would be more valuable.
Only quibble I have is Churchill looks awfully wonky on that card.

Great collection! You can usually get a Stalin signed document for around $3,500, which is expensive I know. I hope to obtain one someday.

I hardly ever see any for sale anywhere...maybe I am searching the wrong places! The few I have seen offered for sale are outrageously priced $30,000-40,000!

Thanks for all the kind remarks from all that posted in this thread...it has been a fun and rewarding project so far! :)!

Hey Bum Dawg, thought you might want to see a Spoon and napkin(people pay a couple thousand for this stuff) 'liberated' from Hitler's Berghof by a member of the 3rd Infantry(He always insisted they reached it first, the French, Easy Co and 101 Airborne arrived hours after them). I also have a large Banner with something written on it that I just can't make out, it was found in the rubble in Berlin.

Very interesting pieces you have there...thanks for showing. The spoon is formal pattern I believe, which is more valuable. I was thinking of getting a silverware piece to add to the complete display piece, but the prices have really gotten high the past few years.

Hitler auto

Very nice collection. I would like to add a Hitler auto to my collection but have never seen one for sale. Any idea what the going price is for one?

Nice looking stuff, shame the names on that flag have faded (which is the writing you can't make out). That' would add some provenance to your pile.

Interesting collection of cut sigs to say the least. I'm a purist when it comes to documents though, IMO any historical document (not a post card or CDV) shouldn't be cut up for cards. Still a neat collection though. :)!

They can be found in the $1500-$3000 range. But its a minefield trying to find an authentic one. Hitler is one of the most forged signatures around.

coltsnsox07 11-24-2012 08:50 PM

I have this PSA/DNA document signed by Adolf(just two months after becoming Fuhrer) and two of his Generals, Werner Von Blomberg and Werner Von Fritsch(killed early in the War 1939). It says a Col. Mueller is to be dismissed as inspector of the Western Wall and names Col. Kitzinger as the new inspector of the Western Wall. Just another day of pushing a pen at the office for Hitler!

Not to mention the vast majority of the documents "signed" by AH were ink stamps. Meissner is another one that there are a ton of ink stamps of.
