A few of mine over the last few months.

Howard Shum: Couldnt ask for anything more. Reasonable rates, great back and forth questions up front to ensure I was getting what I really wanted, good turnaround time. Rating: A+

Veronica O'Connell: I saw someone above asking about her, but I got a pair of cards done and was quite happy. Amazing art, higher end of the cost spectrum but worth it. I'd call her turnaround time average. Rating: A

David Rabbitte: Another pleasure to deal with. Solid communication throughout, above average turnaound time. Reasonable rates. Rating: A+

Kyle Babbitt: Super helpful and it was a challenging puzzle project. Stunning results, great turnaround, very reasonable rates. Rating: A

Ingrid Hardy: About one of the nicest and most helpful artists I have worked with, and ridiculously talented to boot. Always sends scans for review/approval, great turnaround, super reasonable price. There's a reason I've had her do around 15 for me so far. Rating: A+

Trev Murphy: Another at the top end of the cost range, but backs it up with his high quality work. Reasonable turnaround, but not much communication between the order and the completion. Rating: A-

Bruce Gerlach: I was incredibly happy with Bruce's pair of 2-card commissions I had done. Another extremely communicative guy, making sure that the scenes I wanted were being portrayed properly with quick outline sketches. Very reasonable prices, fast turnaround. Rating: A+

Ashleigh Popplewell: Met her at a Chicago show, such a cool lady I kknew I had to get some commissions done. Very reasonable prices, solid communication, good turnaround time. Very happy with results. Rating: A

I've got a pending order with David Desbois, and while his prices are *the* top end of the price spectrum, his talent completely backs it up. He's been extremely communicative so far, and the one finished card I have seen had my jaw on the floor, so going very well thus far.

Thanks for the updates guys and sorry for the gap between my updates. The old brain is finally working again tonight, so I'm caught up through here

By the way, if anyone would like to link websites for all the artists names, let me know and I can shoot you a list to use. If you give me the links, I'll update the artist list so people can go right from there to find out more about the artists.

Nice! I've been on Laurange's wait list since last spring. I emailed her about a month ago and she assured me I'm still in line for an AP when she frees up some time.

I'll have a pretty good update to this as soon as I get a couple more in hand.

**********
COMPLETED/RECEIVED
- Poison Ivy (Batman AP) - SARA RICHARD +1
(As always, great communication and quick turn around time)

COMPLETED/NOT YET RECEIVED
- White Queen (Marvel AP) - ANTHONY TAN will be a +1 rating upon arrival
Absolutely AMAZING communication for someone who is probably buried in work. I think I had a message about every 48 hours on progress. Stunning piece I can't post yet as it's out for approval.

- White Queen (Marvel AP) - STUDIO MIA will be a +1 rating upon arrival
Again, amazing communication, sent over progress scans as did Mr. Tan and solicited feedback on the in progress work. Can't wait to get this one either!

PAID/IN PROGRESS
- White Queen (Marvel AP) - HANIE MOHD

For some reason I can't get a response from Scott McDaniel: www.scottmcdaniel.net
As a Daredevil fan, I'm dying for a sketch cover from him. Anyone had any luck with commissions from him lately?
Maybe my yahoo email is being blocked... Maybe it's because of convention season...

I think I may have come across the sketch cover commission elitists: CGC Best of the Best Sketch

I saw Nestor's special. I really want to see if he could do a Pitt vs Hulk piece for me.

Commissioned an 8x10 of my cat from Mary Bellamy, and I have to say it was a great experience! Her communication was fantastic, and she had the piece to me in less than 2 weeks, some time waiting for me to get her pics of the cat, and she had a weekend at a Con.

A+ for sure!

Picture doesn't do this justice, but it is GREAT in person!

I purchased a Walking Dead sketch card done by Trev Murphy.
I really liked the card once I had it in hand so I contacted him and worked out a commission for 2 cards.
Attached are the sketches besides the pics I asked to have the sketches based on!
I am very happy!
Turnaround time was 1 month!

I like Chris Foreman's work, but you might want to read this one

I don't understand the entitlement some artists seem to have about when they get your commission done or (if they fail to deliver that commission) the long delay in getting a refund. Obviously, most artists handle both aspects (if needed) very well, so this is definitely a squeaky wheel situation--BUT it really sucks for those collectors caught up in those situations.

Paying all or most of the commission price on delivery is the answer I guess, but it's a shame it comes to that. Don't the artists realize the damage to their reputation (and future business) when they even screw up bad once?

If you can't do the work, don't take the commission. If something comes up and you can't do the commission in a reasonable time, send the money back. It's not that difficult.
