Default 3 positives to add:

I have had 5 refreshingly positive sketch commissions in the last month. Please add 2+ for Mary Bellamy who is always so pleasant.

Please also add a + each for
Trev Murphy
Veronica O'Connell
Sanna Umemoto

Each artist was incredibly easy to work with from the time of the request to completion. All 3 communicated proactively, managed timing expectations, were collaborative, and did a great quality job on par with their normal work, Shipping was safe and secure (Sanna's was in a greeting card). Really thrilled to have worked with them all. Communication is really important to me, particularly when many artists ask for money up front. There was no hassle whatsoever with these folks. They totally get customer service and I think it's well reflected here in their work.

Monkey, I echo others' "many thanks" for putting this thread here. I have been checking it constantly before proceeding with commissions.
Thank You!

I'm glad this thread has been so useful, but thanks needs to go to everyone who has participated in leaving feedback. I only update the tally (albeit sometimes a little slowly)

Mary Bellamy +2
Super quick work, great communication.

Ryan Kincaid +2
Longer process, but always kept up to date on progress with great communication.

Hanie Mohd +1
Very long and drawn out process. Communication was poor at times and the work took way longer than expected. Perhaps very busy otherwise with sets and took on too much. You may have to be very patient.

I have commissioned quite a few cards over the past year or two. I figured I would add my experiences for the members here.

Chris "Cabbie" Bradberry +1

Chris is actually a friend of mine that I met at the local comic shop. Great artist with very detailed work.

Vince Sunico +7

Mike Rooth +3

Friendly Canadian Artist who does amazing work in a timely manner.

Jason Sobol +1

Ryan Wong +1

Commission took a month longer than he originally quoted but he threw in a nice Art Piece for the extra wait.

Michael Duron +4

This guy is my Favorite Artist. He always does great work in a reasonable amount of time.

Ashleigh Popewell +1

Does most of her commissions on an artcast so you can watch the whole process.

Tom Kelley +2

Ryan Kincaid +1

Eric McConnell +1

Dan Borgonos +1

Ryan Van Der Drajj +1

Patricia Ross +1

Christian Santos -1

Commissioned a IM3 AP from him and he really didnt do the greatest job on it. UD rejected it and he did another one for me and did a decent job. Charged me $4 for Shipping and mailed the card in a PWE without any protection and the corners of the card showed some wear because of it.

David Day -1

Eventually got my commissions from him after a year but he does not respond to PMs. Had to take my problem to a public forum before I ever got a response from him.

I will update later when I have a little more time, but I see more and more of you indicating multiple +. That's fine for your feedback to indicate how many transactions you've done with that artist, but please know I'm only counting one + (or - ) per person in the tally (I'll need to go back and make sure I didn't multiple count anyone earlier).

Think of this as you vouching for someone--either you do or you don't.

What I may need to do is just change up the format a bit to indicate the feedback by user so this can be tracked a little easier.

If you all have any suggestions about it, please feel free to let me know.

Commissioned a couple PSCs today at the Philly Non-Sports Card Show.

Brent Engstrom +1 (Garbage Pail Kids artist, for those of you who are unfamiliar)

Charles Hall +1, I know there has been some negative feedback, but my experience was excellent. In fact, I didn't contact Charles up front to arrange for commissions to pick-up at the show because of that negative feedback, but I was glad I was able to squeeze in this grey tone commission with just a couple hours to go at the show. If he is going to be at a show near you, definitely stop at his table.

I also arranged for some PSCs from Joe Simko. He wasn't able to get them done at the show (which I knew up front). I'll update when they come in.

Commissioned a Cassie Hack piece from George Webber, and he gets a big +1 from me.

As a nice bonus, he even sketched a pic on the priority mail box.

I'm giving a + to both Emily and Doug Riggsby. I got two Angels and Demons returns from her, and a Puzzle Jam commission from the two of them.

Pics included if you're interested.

You can add another +1 for Mary Bellamy. Excellent communication, fast and beautiful work. Also want to add a +1 for Erik Hodson (or +5 ) for a commission a few months ago. Commissioned 5 cards from him, and received them all in about 2 weeks.

I really need to start a sketch thread like Mr. Monkey McGee, once I can find the time...

Edit: Mary saved me the trouble of scanning the card, and posted it in her own thread - Mary Bellamy's Art Thread - so I don't think she'll mind if I drop this right here...

Got my first PSC done by Emily Riggsby. Please add a + for Emily.

Emily was amazing to deal with and I couldn't rate Emily any higher if I tried. Am strongly considering another from her (just need to decide what I want!). Here is a pic of the PSC

Based on the sig and the style, I assumed you meant Emily Riggsby (not Emma). If that's wrong, let me know.

I'm too slow. Vince Sunico gets a big +1 for me, for the two Marvel Retro APs he did for me over the weekend. Posted in the NYCC thread for those that want to see.

I'd like to leave a +1 for both Pablo Diaz and Fer Galicia.

I've commissioned Pablo several times, for over 30 cards so far. I would definitely recommend him to others, as he's great to work with. He's always up front about how long the cards will take (usually not long at all), always responds to messages quickly, sends pencils of the cards for approval, has very reasonable prices and the art is amazing.

Fer Galicia is also great to work with. His prices are very reasonable, there was a quick turnaround time and the quality of the art was amazing.

I wanted to snag Amy's last Spellcasters AP but somebody beat me to it There will be another opportunity

I finally got my Cherry 1 AEs from Rusty Gilligan. Glad that case is finally closed.

I also got a couple of PSC commissions from Tim Proctor the arrived towards the end of October. I know a lot of people on the forum have had great experiences working with him, but it is unlikely I will not be commissioning him again. I wouldn't call it a negative experience necessarily, more like 'neutral'. Nothing to do with the artwork, which is quite nice.

I also just realized I never commented on a couple of artists I commissioned at the Philly NSCS back in September. Had GPK PSCs done by both Joe Simko (2) and Brent Engstrom, and was quite happy with both experiences.

I've updated my original post.

Eric Ninaltowski (+1) for the Marvel Premier Emma Frost AP

Mike Vasquez (+1) - not sure how you're tallying this. Either +1 or +4, for the Star Wars AP, 2 Fleer Retro Marvel AP's and the Women of Legend AP. Quick turnaround and great communication:

Since the question was asked, I'm going by a "vouch" system rather than tallying up the number of individual good or bad experiences you may have had. So think of this as you saying you recommend this artist or not.

That way we're not throwing off perceptions if a few collectors happen to get several commissions done by a certain artist.

I vouch for Mary Bellamy.

Ordered my first ever sketch commission from anyone yesterday, paid today and it is already finished and headed for the mail.

Amazing!
