Did you see the second pic of the card? I can see why there was such a bidding war.

but.. but.. there are 50 of those and there is no kiss or clothing in that card.

2012 Benchwarmer Vault Sara Underwood Auto Kiss Card 15 Red Version D 14 15 | eBay

i don't understand any of this, though i admit this girl is smoking hot. i think she was in a playboy i bought years back.

incoming rant..

/sigh @ idiots who bid war. we use ebay so we can get a deal.. don't we?

/sigh @ early bidders/auto bid who use this "set it and forget it" method, they aren't serious about the auction, they are only jacking the price up and they 9 times out of 10 won't even win the item. people who are serious who wanted a deal, can no longer can the item at a deal price, but will pay more because they are infact serious about the item.

/sigh @ people who jack up the price when they don't intend to buy, just to spite the other bidders. this is just as bad as shill bidding.

Serriously? So where do you sell the better pulls that you don't want? Do you want everybody to get "deal price" (aka...lose your ass price) on those? I am guessing not.

That being said, bidding wars happen...it can get pretty silly sometimes as often other copies of the same card are available to BIN at well less than bidding price. Congrats to the seller as one finally went in their favor.

Are you serious? When you go to buy something on ebay are you telling me you're not looking to get a deal on an item that is up for auction? Do you, AS A BUYER think "I want to bid $300 for this sketch because I think it is worth $300? You are taking my words out of context.

gotta love the winning bidder with 8000 bids on 1000 items and 40 bid retractions!

I don't buy tons on Ebay. It's it nice to get a deal from time to time? Certainly, but I am sick of people who don't want to pay a FAIR price on things and think that they should be buying at a fraction of market price.

Why are you arguing with Igman7? First of all, he is a small time dealer. Obviously, he wants to get the best price for the cards he sells... giving out deals isn't the best business practice. Second of all, he is super nice and helps out people a ton on this forum.

Yes... THAT bidding war was silly. Why continue to raise your bid? You want to bid early? Super - enter your highest bid. You want to wait until the end and try to steal something? Terrific - just make sure you have a good connection when that auction is about to end. I've seen plenty of early serious bids win auctions even after some last minute bids. Hell, that winning bid was placed almost a full day before the auction ended.

To me a deal if a fair price. It depends on the quality mind you, but a fair price is usually cheaper than the norm asking price for similar works by said artist. In other words, sure if I can get a sketch for $100-$150 when I know it could be listed for $250-$300, awesome. Mind you, list prices are just that and it doesn't mean they will actualy sell at that price.

I made a statement from a buyers standpoint, he retorted as if I was making one from a sellers standpoint? This is more of a discussion than an argument i think.

Crazy bidding. If I was going to spend $200 on Underwood autos I'd personally rather get 2 Carrie Underwood autos (2005 American Idol)

Last time I ckecked, there is a buyer AND a seller for every item; so , for every "steal" out there there is someone losing bigtime. I, for one, try to look at both sides of the equation. Unfortunately, there is a growing group of folks who only care that they can get what they want for as close to free as possible. They (not necessarilly counting you) even rant about dealers making a profit. For those without an understanding of baisc business principles, is the dealers who break the product continue to lose money, they no longer buy sealed product...enough of that happening and the card makers will stop making the products all together as it isn't selling. At this point, everyone loses.

I understand that, but I think I made it pretty clear I was commenting from a buyers perspective. I do respect your stance. As a seller myself, I want to get a good price for everything I put up, but I still try to stay competative.

If you did, I don't think you would have responded in the same manner.

So, just to get things right...you don't like when people's bidding habits "jack up the price" of items unless they are yours...and I am the one who doesn't look at both sides of the coin. Makes sense now.

No I am saying, I posted from a buyers standpoint and you responded from a sellers standpoint. Then you told me to consider both points of view. I'm saying you should as well. As a seller, even as I want to get a good price for my sketches, I can understand and empathize with the issues buyers deal with.

And even hotter in person!

I don't know about her card values, but there is no denying she is really well put together...
