Beloved Sketch Card Artist, Sara Richard, to do a series of MLP Covers

I know there are a handful of Sara Richard fans here and I thought a couple may be interested in this information. Sara will be doing a series covers for upcoming issues of My Little Pony. They will be a retailer exclusive available only through Double Midnight Comics & Games.

Here is the first one, available on the website now. I think Sara will be doing a RE cover for them for each issue through June. Contact Sara for more information.

No no, the real shame would be in like 10 years when you decide to sell them. Perhaps someone asks why you have a stack of My Little Pony comics and yet no small children in the 3 to 10 age range....

Well, at least three of us are fans of her work. I think that counts as "beloved" around these parts.

Must admit, the title scared the hell out of me until I clicked on it. The truncated version read "Beloved Sketch Card Artist,..." and it sounded like a obituary.
And while I do love Sara's work, I'll be passing on the My Little Pony issues.

Yeah, I'm leaning that direction myself. I got a hi-res scan from her DA page just to enjoy the art, but I don't think I can have MLP in the house. I can just see my little niece finding it and then I have to explain to my wife's family why I have it.

They don't really know about the sketches. I think MLP would do them in

I was going for the obituary vibe, a pun on Sara no longer being with us in the "sketch card world" so I'm glad at least somebody picked up on it... sort of, anyway...

Officially, Sara left the sketch card business to pursue work as a cover artist. To that end, she has found some success in this deal as the RE artist for the Double Midnight MLP variants. I'm sure its nothing fantastic, but its a start. Good for her! If the bronies (or whatever, not even sure if I spelled that correctly) like her, it could lead to a lot of extra commission work
