Default No doubt, two big winners...your thoughts?

In the wakes of Americana and Topps Heroes come 2 new, non-sports products that I think are going to be huge. Blowout posted about them earlier today, but I thought I might start a new thread to see what everyone thought and to draw attention to them in case some of you don't view the presell info.

These 2 products are:

BREYGENT MARKETING's Celebrity Poster Collector Cards

& MARILYN MONROE Shaw Family Archives

1) First and foremost...Both of these products are limited to only 250 cases!

2) Both products boast 1 sketch card per box with cut signatures falling 1 per case!

They both look to be loaded with case-chase cards and I just don't see how you could go wrong with this product no matter what you do with it. I think they are great products to rip and flip, to bust and add to personal collections, and great to hold onto sealed for a while. Check out those scans of the cards Blowout posted in the presell threads.

I have a few cases coming of each already. What do you guys think of these 2 products?

Matt,

I agree. I pre-ordered two cases of each immediately last week, and bought one more each today. Not that it belongs in this thread, but I sure hope it's better than the grossly overrated Heroes that came in this week. I lost more on that than I do Upper Deck baseball products. Ouch.

Back to this stuff, those poster cards are incredible, as are the autos. The Monroe swatches are disappointing (only one touched her body, and that was a glove; plus they are small), but the sketches and the limited quantities will help.

I am very interested in the Movie Posters and will be looking to pick those up but I don't know about the Marilyn stuff. I like the variety offered in the Movie product.
I thought what gave the sketch cards value in other products was that they were case hits and not box hits ? I could be wrong but doesn't one per box kind of diloute these a bit ?

You make a very good point, but when you have only 250 cases produced, I think there will be less sketch cards at one per box in this product than in Heroes for instance, with only a few per case but with who knows how many cases produced.

I feel this is a lot like 2006 Tristar Prospects Plus where they really loaded those cases with good cards, and had a very limited production run. I think the price is going to keep shooting up.

250 cases at 12 boxes per case and one sketch card per box yields 3000 sketch cards in the entire run. Does anyone have an idea how many sketch cards in Heroes?

Looking at the MM stuff I'm wondering what autos other than hers would be worth pulling ? The only other high profile people in her life that come to mind are JFK and Joe D but are they in there ? I'd be shocked if they were. Anyone see an auto checklist anywhere ?

edit: After re-reading the pre-view thread, is Kevin McCarthy (?) the only auto other than the sketch artist in the product ?

total agreement here - the MM stuff won't be anywhere near as good as the posters, BUT it will still be a winner if you got in early.

I don't think the sketches will be diluted simply because of the variety of them involved.

I don't know if he's the only auto or not. It kind of looks that way, and if that's the case, there would be 250 of them.

The Movie Posters product on the other had has an auto every 96 packs, or 3 per case with a cut per case as well. That might be the better product if looking for autographs.

Interesting. It looks like they have been around for awhile. I also noticed they use some of the same sketch artists that were used for Heroes.
