Every blue book does have a 4 card puzzle by the same artist. But they're not all necessarily connected into one big picture, some are connected by theme - so 4 separate cards with a similar theme. This is one of those - there are 4 cards in this particular set that poke fun at paintings.

I only did blue versions, no red.

Thanks for the clarification Ted! And thanks for "liking" my caption for your card!
I hope these blue books don't sell out before I get a chance to buy one. I used to have a Mars Attacks card based on a MC Escher painting done by you..(as you well know) Standing offer is $500 to buy it back if you're reading this Pit Viper

i thought they were just 4 cards by the same artist, not necessarily a puzzle

If I had to choose another title for the card, that one would be it.

They're supposed to tie together somehow.

"The winner of yesterday's MARS ATTACKS caption contest is Dan Buffaloe for his title "Blown to Pisa". Dan, message us to claim your prize.

To everyone else, there'll be more chances to win in the lead up to our official MARS ATTACKS ship date!"

Now I'm super excited! I never win anything. I would like to thank Ted for his general bad-assery!!

That's so damn cool you won, congrats!

The real title is "Destroying Da Vinci," which someone guessed early on.

Thanks Ted! I wish they would send you just 1 AP for this set. I have nightmares where I sell the AP I got from you, then I wake up and it's true. Keep up the great work! I love your art!

So I'm going to pull the trigger on getting a Blue Book I think.

Is it sketch collector blaspheme to say that I really hope I don't pull one of the Sean Pence puzzles?

I'd rather have 4 themed cards rather than a 4 card puzzle, so it's okay with me

Depending on the puzzle, I'd tend to agree. I would probably take Teds Abby Road puzzle over anything. Makes me want to listen to "I want you (she's so heavy)" over and over.

I'm just not a big fan of what Pence added to the set, but maybe I'm just being hypercritical.

The Teds are sweet indeed. What other artists do you like in the blue sets?

Miram Kim and Dan Harding also have some very nice preview sketches. I'm sure Gary Kezele will have some amazing sketches too, but so far Ted's seem to be the best out of the blue labels.

Curious to see how many blue book buyers are just looking to flip for profit. That's a pretty big investment. I'd have to imagine most buying into that one are doing so to keep.

I always love Gary's work, and I can't wait to see what he did for this set. Dan Harding, Chris Mason and John MCcrea will produce some amazing sketches as well. I'm sure I'll love whatever I end up getting. I have a TWD AP from Tim Proctor that I love, so I can't wait to see his cards also.......I guess that means I like everyone (Juat not crazy about the Pence puzzles)

Agreed! I have no intention of selling, and the fact that you can stil pre order Blue Books makes me think this is not a "flippers" product.

The IDW webpage says they will ship in early July. So we still have a long wait to see what great sketch cards we will pull.

I have spoken to IDW (as recently as last week) and I know they are VERY happy with how sales are going. So i'm not really sure why you keep bringing up the fact that they have not sold out.

To be honest, this set was not designed as a "rip + flip" experience, it was designed as a premium product for comic book and card collectors who value the product they purchase.
