Default Anyone else really surprised theres no Breaking Bad Set

this show would be perfect for a card set, its still a mystery why Cryptozoic doesnt have the rights to this show.

perfect redemption oversized blue crystal card

Boardwalk Empire is another show I would like to see.

It is quite possible that the license is not available.

More likely it doesn't have nerd appeal. It's about a murderous Meth Dealer.

it is missing the science fiction / fantasy aspect that is delivered by most of the TV and movie sets

Shows like Big Bang Theory and Castle both have card sets and don't fall into the categories you mentioned.

BBT is a tremendously famous show and Castle is solid but I never thought I'd see them getting a set either.

Breaking Bad is just not suited to a set, same as most of the overly "guy shows" like Sons of Anarchy and Boardwalk Empire. As a good example, take a look at the realitively low prices for all of the cards from the Sopranos set which fills the same type of demographic.

BBT has been very successful as a card set, and I think it has a lot to do with the fact that the show appeals to the science fiction / fantasy audience. Me and all my nerdy scientist friends love BBT, Star Wars, and comics. Castle... well it may be a good show (I've never seen it myself) but I doubt anybody would consider the trading card release a success in comparison to something like BBT or Walking Dead.

I have to agree with Igman. There are plenty of shows/movies I enjoy that I wouldn't collect a card set of. The one that comes to mind immediately is "Rescue Me" - awesome show, potentially lots of sweet autos and relics, many seasons to draw from, obvious great ideas for chase sets... but I don't think it will be a big hit. Maybe I'm wrong. What do I know? I want a sketch card set featuring just clowns.

Never seen Dexter nor am i interested in it but I had a bud who was one of the serial killers in the first season. If he was in it it has nerd and geek appeal.

Big Bang is all Nerd-gasm and isn't Castle some sorta supernatural or weird show? Never seen either show but know what they are......sorta.

I don't disagree with you about the set not being a good subject, but I think the Sopranos set suffered from lack of a decent autograph list rather than anything else. . . Frankly it may have suffered from the worst autograph line up of a major property. . .

No... he's a writer who is a consultant for police on routine cases... He is very popular with the nerds though and Stana Katic is a doll.

I love the show and wish there was a set.. there could be lots of interesting relics. As long as they get all the main actors to sign for it. If they didn't I think a lot of people would pass.

No it was one of them pretty boy actors. One was the guy from Firefly the other some blonde guy. Like I said I don't watch the shows but have seen the commercials so things kinda blend together.
Edit*** Found the show, The Mentalist.
Now it figures why Castle is so liked, it's got the Firefly Guy in it. Like I said card sets need that nerd factor to sell. Even if the connections are based on past shows.

It seems like everyone thinks of themselves as nerds these days, but I would say a good measuring stick would be if the shows you like make popular card sets. I don't know how being a nerd got so popular (which is actually oximoronic) but it's annoying.
This is an awesome article about why you're not a nerd! You're not a nerd, geeks aren't sexy and you don't "#@#@#@#@ing love" science.

well everyone is nerdy or geeky about something, just because you collect cars or bikes instead of comics or cards or gummy bears doesn't mean your not a geek. And geeks of all stripes wear their respective uniforms. Just look at car guys or bike guys or sports guys or comics guys or etc etc etc. they all emulate each other in look and costume.
