Name the one show you wish/deserves to have its own card set

Im sticking with Breaking Bad, despite a majority of you thinking it wouldnt sell, I believe if they got Cranston & Paul to sign it would be a top class set to collect with tons of interesting relics.

All my other fav shows have had sets made to be honest.

Monty Python's Flying Circus. Imagine how valuable those autos would be!

neon_tiger 03-07-2013 10:10 AM

i forgot to mention, i would LOVE LOVE a Quentin Tarantino set, where its prop cards from his movies and auto's from all the actors he's worked with. This would be my dream set. :flex:

Bryanjs14 03-07-2013 10:17 AM

I'm with you on Breaking Bad. Would Love a Community set as well.

monkeymcgee 03-07-2013 10:19 AM

While I would love a Breaking Bad product, I think Sons of Anarchy might be more viable and equally awesome.

I'd have to go outside of a tv show and say I'd really really like to see Crypto release a Harry Potter collection. Every movie getting their own boxes. Wardrobes, auto's, dual and triple autos, auto wardrobe, 3D cards, sketches.

I'd be all over it

A while ago Inkworks was supposed to be working on a Futurama set. I wish someone would do this show justice and totally nerd out on it. There's a lot of hidden stuff on the show and I think the voice actors deserve autographs plus they've had enough celebrities to make some interesting chase autos.

I don't really watch any other television today ... maybe there could be a year by year Adult Swim card set? I think they're really innovative and have great shows but I fear that the market just wouldn't be there for a Venture Brothers or Aqua Teen set alone ... perhaps combining them and just concentrating on each year?

Also, I'd like to see a well done Ren & Stimpy. I was happy to be able to back John K's recent Kickstarter.

Does anyone know if there was a Kids in the Hall card set? I didn't grow up in Canada so I don't know if that might have been popular enough there ...

I would like to see some of the old 80's TV shows get sets. The relic and auto cards would be great!

Knight Rider
Dukes of Hazzard
Magnum P.I.
A-Team

Just a few examples.

I guess the big question is whether or not the relic cards would be possible? Weren't a lot of the old shows mostly borrowed clothing from a studio? I mean, it's not like TV had big budgets back then (even today they pale compared to movies). Does anyone know if they even kept the stuff worn by the cast or did they just return it to the prop closet where they were shooting?

That's a good question. My bet is Planet Hollywood owns some of these now. As far as the rest, I would have no idea, maybe private collections...for things that weren't just borrowed. Probably not possible to make these sets, but I know I would be a buyer for these!

(I have heard that there is a "General Lee" graveyard somewhere where the wrecked cars were taken to. Whether or not that's true, I have no idea, but a piece of the car would be great! K.I.T.T. would be awesome, too!)

centereacan06 03-07-2013 10:41 AM

Comic Book Men? I absolutely love that show.

Do you listen to the Secret Stash podcast? I recently started and it's pretty good as well, although the earlier ones are a little better because they had Walt and Bryan on them regularly--they are more like guest hosts now.

Wow, a piece of a "General Lee"? Hahaha, that's actually a great idea assuming they're not rusted out and destroyed from the elements. If the original paint is still on them, you could probably take a reciprocating blade to get approximate card sizes and then finish them to be safe in a shop while trying to retain the paint. I'm afraid a plasma cutter would burn up the paint.

Unfortunately I didn't have TV growing up so I only know that these shows follow the same exact plotline for every episode and am largely uninterested in it. Still, the piece of a car would be really cool relic, prior statement retracted :)!

Top 5 TV shows

1. Chuck
2. Lost Girl
3. Ally McBeal
4. Gilmore Girls
5. FNL

eldavojohn 03-07-2013 11:01 AM

Oh, I forgot to add (because I know it'd be a copyright nightmare): Mystery Science Theater 3000. Man do I spend too much money on that show -- even now I buy all the licensed DVDs and Rifftrax/Cinematic Titanic stuff.

Zerokruel 03-07-2013 11:49 AM

1. Mash
2. Cheers
3. TMNT (Cartoon themes cards and sketches with relics from the movies!)
4. Dragon Ball, Z, Gt (sketches would be huge IMO)

dd316 03-07-2013 11:52 AM

And not a show, but I want a new Disney set (a la Treasures) with autographs from the voice actors. The possibilities are endless with something like that.

1. Beetlejuice (Movie)
2. The Shield
3. 3rd Rock From the Sun
4. Boardwalk Empire

Agree! a CHUCK set would have kicked ass had it come out during its run.

3. Back to the Future Trilogy

Sometime you just have to take matters into your own hands. Thats what I did for this one.

Sons of Anarchy

baytowntex 03-07-2013 01:48 PM

the only show that deserves a trading card set is Tales from the Crypt .. some of the biggest names in Hollywood can be found in those episodes.

GoBeavs 03-07-2013 02:36 PM

What about any of the "reality" shows? Survivor, Big Brother, or American Idol should do well. I'd be up for a Top Shot set.

scotsman 03-07-2013 02:43 PM

Cheers.
Glad to see someone else agrees higher up. Would be a great range of autos including guest stars. And it would be snapped up by those in their 30s/40s who are the so-called "disposable income " group of consumers companies love.

American Idol has had several sets released.
