Looks like BO is out now, or maybe they pulled it until closer to release. Wonder if the redemption insert news will raise their case prices next round (if there is a next round.)

We're working on a last minute insert set, so we're holding off a bit on all the info.

The info currently, which may change by release date, is still at least 2 extra cards per pack. This would only go up, not down by release date. As in, most with 2 extra cards, some with 3, maybe.

There will probably (2) 9-card sets, and (1) 18 card set. The 18 card could move to 9, or one of the 9 could bump to 18. We're working out the details now as we pack everything out.

Insert sets will be a little harder to put together this time around as well. We're looking at maybe 30 copies of each card, depending on how the final numbers shake out. This is to give the extra cards an insert card feel, instead of just tons of base cards. All insert sets are based on a count of 9, to fit in the 9 pocket pages because THAT'S HOW IT SHOULD BE (ocd)!

We have 3 insert set themes so far (not counting the last one we're working on):

- Vintage Carnival and Circus posters
- Daguerreotype style sideshow photographs
- Carnival sketch artwork

That last one will have limited copies of some of the sketches included in the set, but only 1 from each subject and artist. One each of a strongman, barker, fire breather, bearded lady, etc... all from various artists in the set. So, 9 (or probably 18) sketches in the set will have accompanying insert cards limited to 30 or so.

We figured it was a win-win for including an insert set like this. Collectors who like a certain sketch by an artist, but are unable to buy the original will be able to find one of the 30 limited copies in the insert set. On the flip side, the collector with the original will have added value as their card will be the original artwork for an insert card, along with being a cool sketch.

The other insert set is nearly done, so we'll have more info on that soon. We'll also have the actual names of those insert sets above once we get closer to shipping.

We also have 1 other bit of info about the insert sets, but we decided to just keep it a secret until the set comes out. We're trying something a bit different this time.

I wish some of this information was available prior to the original pre-sale. Almost makes me look past the whole 'no clowns' thing.

Nah, that's the beauty of Viceroy. You get blown away by the first previews, you preorder, then they continue to blow you away right up to release date (and beyond!) Also, if you are looking for clowns, Marty and Boo will be coming out with a Kinky Clown Girl sketch set this summer. Of course, that may not be QUITE what you are looking for.

Random off topic question just for general feedback, which do you guys prefer:

Sketches packed in a magnetic holder in our boxes.

or

Sketches in a penny sleeve or toploader, inside a foil pack, inside our boxes.

The trade off would be taking the amount spent on magnetic holders per set, and rolling that over in to more content in packs, or more chase hits (like the Barnum redeem).

Thoughts? We're happy with the current setup, but we're exploring options if we go to a multipack format similar to the Absolute sports products with 4 premium packs per box.

I think a penny sleeve is good enough personally as long as its in a pack. If the foil packs are significantly cheaper than magnetic holders I say go with those and add more value to the set.

I have a taken all your sketches out of the magnetic holders and put them in top loaders because they are easier to store. I really don't care to have a couple feet of magnetic holders.

Sounds fine to me. I mostly collect the sketches themselves, but the other stuff has been cool as well.

Its always been about the sketches for me. I would rather have the magnetic case.

I like the magnetic holders, but I can just start ordering them for the sketches. What size are they that fit your beefy sketch cards?

This would be my selection but I want to point out that I'm super glad Gavin Hunt's raised sketch card arrived to me with a lot of protection!

Hmm. the answer to my question was only 3 pages earlier in this very same thread, which I have been following religiously. It's a good thing I don't need a working memory to do my job (that's what Google is for!)

I like that the sketch cards come in a magnetic holder, that makes it feel like more of a premium product to me.
