agree that carnival has a lot of other hits to help matters. however...

5finity anything
mythology
spellcasters
treasure chests and booty
bombshells
dungeon dolls
angels/demons
dark zodiac

and that's just off the top of my head!

All of those had a majority of sketches that covered half the box/set/pack (whatever) price? Then I stand corrected!

Actually, most of those covered all of the price, not just half. I've went ahead and put in bold the reason the majority of these were so profitable. I love the subjects and the artwork on the Viceroy sets, they have been my absolute favorites of any sketch sets.

Of course, the sets listed above had their high points, also...

LOL at this post. All is correct though the pernas' stuff is clean and still commands big bucks!

Tim - Although I've come to terms with the fact that nobody here wants to hear my opinion... I'm going to give it to you anyway.

(1) The singles on eBay right now seemed to be pretty over priced. I think Ted is great, but I don't see that card going for even close to $100. I plan on listing mine at $40/$60BIN. I think $200 for the plate is a tough pill to swallow. The set would end up costing you well over a grand

(2) I posted a couple weeks about whether or not people were seeing a little too much green on this release. No offense to Viceroy, who did an awesome job, but I think the hype got built up beyond reality. $60/packs $600/cases? It would be a pretty spectacular case to pull out $600 worth of goodies.

Those things said, you will not lose half or even lose a single penny on this release if you got your case at $300 or less. There will be those $10-20 cards. I don't expect to get more than $20 for my Foreman. But I there will be plenty of $40-60 cards to cover those and if you hit a Glebe, Cook, or any of the other big money makers you will get paid off. I think any worrying is premature.

Lots of great art coming out right now with this set. Lets focus on that, and praising those who worked hard to get it done.

Wasn't intended to be an insult. If somebody wants one of Ted's cards and is willing to spend that $$ - They should contact Ted directly with a compliment and a commission. They will be quite pleased I'm sure.

I guess my point was the thread was getting taken over by $$$ talk and not focused not sketch card talk from about mid way thru page 19 to this point.

Kinda takes the fun out of release week for me at least.

Yeah I think part of the driver is that we post are breaks each in a separate thread in a different part of the forum. Lots of nice things about the art being said over there.

Awesome Vasquez by the way. A shame they never made a promo out of that. One day I'm gonna steal one of those Vasquez's out from under you.

Considering that most people aren't keeping all the cards they get in their breaks, I think the money talk is appropriate.

I can't speak for some of the other early buyers of Space, but we probably propped up the price a bit bidding against each other. All it takes is a couple of sales to establish a price and you'll see some things start to move.

I'm looking to buy, but the stuff on eBay so far just isn't what I'm looking for yet. I've seen a number of sketches pulled on the box break section that I would bid on, but chances are they're not on eBay because they're being held on to. Once the Beard of Bees and Geek sketches hit eBay, then you'll see some sales

Although it does surprise me that the Frederickson and Swanger couldn't get $30 on eBay before they ended. I liked them, but I'm just saving my money for the stuff I want more.

Awesome. I was beginning to think I'd imagined drawing for the set!

Why aren't there any inserts for sale on ebay? I wanted to make a set or two. Wonder if people are holding these?

I've been wondering the same thing. I'm still contemplating putting together a set of the art cards for my PC. Other than that, mine are available FS/FT if there are any you need.
