I don't quite understand that one.
One you have no clue about obviously. Put down the My Little Pony books and go pick up some real comics and get a clue.

Fighting with what, clouds of colored smoke? Come on, you can't abandon your principles that easily... can you? They are posing and you know it.

How about this? Toothbrushing contest?

plus... as you mentioned previously, this is marvel's greatest battles so I expect the card to contain a battle! I have plenty of poses from MBA and other previous sets
The format does tend to restrict good battle scenes as you can't have two figures fighting and have the head of one on the other card with the body on another. It takes the Battle part away but it is what it is. The only way to counter that is to then draw the figures mostly from the waist up.

Actually that one is on my watch list. Anyway, I suppose I owe you further explanation. Battling does not necessary mean they are grappling or somebody is mid-punch. In the examples you have selected, the characters are clearly depicted in a manner where it is obvious they are engaged in an altercation, as opposed to posing in front of the same background like these:

Rian only fights online so his battles are only with his reflection in his monitor. I suppose we should draw Xavier duking it out with Magneto. Rian needs to stop compensating for his overall ignorance and use his common sense.

You are awesome, I knew you wouldn't let me down.

When you go to a party do you remind everyone that the cashews are not really nuts?

And now the real Rian is back. The small minded simplistic sarcastic troll. You weren't fooling anyone with your cowardly slight of hand tactics R. Your true nature is that of a weasel, rodent. Figures your fave character fits you so well.

Did anyone else notice that Warren Martineck's 9 case incentive cards seem to be full four card sheets?

There are two on ebay now, and they don't look like they are cut. Can a dealer confirm this? Were they shipped in large envelopes or something?

Just did a recount of my MGB cards and looks like i undercounted by 1 I need to check see if this one was approved as it was probably the one that most likely would have because the format wasn't followed.

No, because I didn't know that. Is it true? I would love to have a new piece of trivia to impress people with if I ever get invited to a party.

No one has said the equivalent of "Back in my day.." yet, so you know you are on Blowout.

LOL--not everyone, I've met some cool folks over there, but it does seem like many threads about the hobby in general go into old vs. new collectors at some point.

I thought they all went into collectors vs artists? These days (as opposed to back in my day) they all seem to go to Rian vs...

To be fair to Rian, he's done a ton of good deeds for the hobby in the last few years. From what I've seen, most of the "Rian vs." started as soon as Rian became "critical/judgmental" of artist's work @ Scoundrel. While I do think Rian can tip-toe the line of being too abrasive and sometimes not open-minded enough, his opinion is his opinion and should be treated as that.

It's sad that we can't have more critical discussion of artwork @ Scoundrel or anywhere. ...especially in the light of the market flooding. It really isn't hard for most adults who spend $100s in a hobby to say what they like and don't like without becoming absolute haters.

The biggest problem with talking about the artwork as collectors is you're either buying or not. if not buying why bother talking about the artwork? If the reason why you aren't buying is because of the artwork even more reason to not talk about it. Talking about the artwork in a negative will just start a negative wave that will wind up souring the whole hobby. That's what negativity does, it spreads like a disease.
