I wish I would have got an invite for this set It looks like it will be a big success!
At least I got to work on the SW Galactic Files 2 set and did good work I'm proud of.

Scott, you killed it on Galactic Files 2! I also wish you got an invite... Would've loved to see what you came up with.

hmmmm... Ted... I'm just gonna throw this out there. A gift bag IS happening if you're going to be appearing at the Topps booth at NYCC Too bad my new stuff isn't gonna be out until January

Alvin... I don't know if the awkward gift bag full of personal hygeine products will be enticing enough to get Ted on board but I did my best

You should be, I just looked up some of your GF2 sketches and they are incredible. I cannot answer why you were not asked. You can always check with your editor, but I know it's pretty late at this point.

Scott would have been an awesome contributor to this release. What a bummer.

Anything to rip on the set, eh Tim?

Wow, what a cheap shot. How dare you? I spend well over a hundred thousand dollars on topps products a year and have 25 cases of this one ordered - does that sound like someone who wants to "rip" on a set? I call things the way I see them both good and bad - too bad you aren't able to take the bad with the good.

Up to now I was very pleased with your efforts - not necessarily topps' efforts (absurdly bad CS and QC), but at least I was impressed enough with you and this release to order 25 cases. Way to treat one of your biggest customers. You can bet I will think very hard about continuing to support your products.

We'll be announcing a very big promotion tomorrow at a convention on the West Coast.

Going to be very exciting!

I take all the good with the bad. No one is ever going to be 100% happy and there's always going to be people who don't like what we do.

As for you being a big customer, I (as a Topps employee) appreciate your business. But that's all i'll say about that part of your comment.

Alvin, I know you are proud of this set, and I appreciate all of the info and previews you are sharing in this thread. But I don't see anything in Tim's comment that could be viewed as a rip on the set.

Anyways, looking forward to the announcement tomorrow. I love sketch products, but passed on the MA Heritage set because I saw too many low quality sketches in early breaks. But I am very excited for this set.

Not to speak for Alvin, but I think he saw this as a trend in comments from Tim. I think Tim was commenting on this like he does every product, though. I didn't see him being particularly negative towards this myself.

Personally, I think if you are representing a company you have to not react to the negative comments like you are a regular board member.

But I echo Aggie's sentiments that the information provided for this product has been outstanding. In fact, I went from very cold on this product to planning on opening a few cases.

So, Alvin, excellent job in promoting this

Appreciate it, Monkey. I'll admit I have hard time separating the fan from the employee at time (i've been a fan of this stuff far longer than i've worked for Topps, going back 20 odd years to my days growing up on comics and cards).

Regardless, i'm sorry if it came off as nasty, Tim, it was genuinely more tongue-in-cheek-- which I know must sound like a backtrack, but if you knew me you'd understand (of course if you're at NYCC stop by and say hi)

Anyway, here's some sketch cards I just got from Matt Frank. Like Russ, we've asked if he can expand the three-carders to four so we can put them in "loaded sketch packs."

I'm gonna try my best to make it. Life's been kinda throwing me some curveballs lately, we'll see.

I need some floss to go along with the toothpaste!

You know, I think we should have a final list by now, but i'll have to see if they are comfortable releasing. At this stage when artists are still working, we're never quite certain if every artist who "signed up" ends up doing their work (there's always a couple who bail).

Plus there are a few who committed to a very limited amount but are also BIG names, so I don't want to get peoples hopes up.

Good idea, though.

Unfortunately not. The only reason a Comikaze appearance is possible is that fortuitously, one of our guys on the Vault side just moved to L.A.

And I just moved from LA to DC. I think I got the better end of the deal.
