All told there might be 100-200 creator sketch cards. Confirmed are Ed Repka, Alex Horley, Jim Nelson, Dave Palumbo and Ralph Horsley. Eric Wilkerson may also do some, but I have not seen any yet.
The competition is on. Will there be more creator sketch cards or loaded sketch packs?

I think I'm going to end up pre-ordering 2 more cases (for a total of 3). Just to warn you guys, I'm going to try to open these slowly since I don't have to worry about selling anything

About 6 weeks until the Invasion

50 loaded packs (200 cards total)

Probably around 100 creator sketch cards. We're hoping for more as they come in, but I want to be conservative here.

This right here makes me happy. Of course Topps wants to make money, but personally, I really want fans to enjoy this, and if we've ended up making a set so cool that people outside of non-sports or outside of the hobby entirely pick it up, i'll be really thrilled.

Frankly, if a card set-- ANY card set-- can't find some new fans, then it hasn't done its job.

Thanks!

I picked up a couple packs of 2012 Attacks last year and thought it was meh, but I really like the design this year.

October 18th can't come soon enough!

More of a general sketch card question - do you log / photograph all of the sketch cards that go into the packs?

No. I have been scanning a handful from each artist as they come in, but the time associated with scanning the thousands of sketch cards that are produced would be incredible. Even just doing a few from each artist is quite time consuming.

That said, we have been politely asking artists to scan theirs, and most do, even if it's for their own sake. But like writing their names legibly, it's not something we'd go out of our way to enforce-- it's just not reasonable or efficient to do so.

My hope, though, is that we can one day do a book like the Mars Attacks/GPK/Wacky hardcovers collecting the best sketches. I think that'd be a lot of fun.

Doing high res scans of my final sketch cards was the last thing I did before FedEX'n them back to Topps. I wanted a record for myself of each card. If a future books happens and print-worthy scans are needed, then GREAT!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the set and boxes of Mars Attacks do well also. I've met many great people over the last month through taking part in the project and would love the success of the set lead to another one next year!

Loving all of the sketch card previews. Any chance we will get to see some previews of the other hits like the autos, patches and medallions?

If fans look closely, the insignia for the United Earth Alliance appears on several cards in the story on soldier uniforms.

PLUS I designed all the logos, patches and insignias myself. So be kind!

Ninety-nine sketch cards down, seven more to go! All are in color. Woo-hoo!

This comic series starts this week. One of the crazier ideas I had for the card set was a subset of Dredd/MA, with art from the crossover and a newly commissioned painting featuring Stallone's Dredd fighting the '96 Tim Burton Martian. I also wanted to do a dual relic from the movies, with a swatch of Dredd and Martian uniforms.

Needless to say I was the only one championing that idea!

I've finished all 106 of my sketch cards, all are in color, and I've just been approved to share the rest. Here are some additional examples, including the fourth 4-card puzzle I drew.

Working on this set was a blast for me! Thanks Topps!
