Topps.com

Avoid ebay resellers-- we're planning to do more if demand is high.

Alvin, why can't Topps put you in charge of the Star Wars releases?? Seriously, I'm not the only one who'd like to see some sort of quality control given to it.

Anyways congrats. We had our boxes come into the shop today. Look forward to breakin a couple myself.

Funny that you say that: the same editor for Star Wars did this set, and he's a fantastic editor. The difference is for MA, he wasn't alone, and my help allowed him to do focus on controlling quality and doing stuff that we often don't have time to do-- like scouting for new sketch artists and developing new card concepts.

He did the bulk of the work on the set, and he deserves every bit of kudos (if not more) than I!

Ditto.

Congrats, Alvin. Your hard work will pay off! I'm excited to see the reaction of wax busters as I'm not a big one.

Seriously, I'm beyond excited to have worked on this set!!

Out of the blue....after seeing someone else's sketch cards, I did a quick drawing of a martian and posted it to Mars Attack's Facebook page and was asked to join the sketch party late in the game. Even though sleep was non-existent for a month, I was loving every minute of it. As a Mars Attacks fan from the original series, it's been a blast drawing big brains, blood/guts, Marines, and bugs.

Here's hoping there's a 2014 release! Congrats, Alvin.

ACK! ACK!

Not to call out this artist who I normally like, but this is not a good effort:

2013 Topps Mars Attacks Invasion Sketch Card 1 1 by Ashleigh Popplewell | eBay

On the other hand, these are pretty cool

2013 Topps Mars Attacks Invasion Sketch Card 1 1 by Eric Kanalish | eBay

2013 Topps Mars Attacks Invasion Sketch Card 1 1 by Jason Walker | eBay

Apparently, this is one of those releases where nobody respects release date.

Worse than street date violators are the utter morons who act like there is a race to see who can sell for the lowest amount first.

what drives those crap dealers? with heritage it was STORMSHADOW iirc?...can't be greed as they are losing money if a base set cannot be made within a box of INVASION?
YES THE Shadow has made an appearance...forget about selling base sets as this dude will be undercutting for at least the next year...I wish I could cancel my orders and be done with it...I should have learned my lesson with Invasion.

Unless I'm missing something, he's merely matching the prices already being set by someone else (ups1298) on the base sets. Although the chase set price is much lower than those already listed.

And let the race to the bottom (price wise) begin.
Just hope it doesn't get as bad as Retro did/has.

There were a ton of sketches listed in the middle of the night - but they were all down this AM. Lots of stinkers too. Did anyone else notice this?

You can preorder the base sets for $9 from an online shop.

@pitviper,

Didn't see that, bit disappointing if true. Any higher end ones or puzzles appeared yet?

I am guessing as Ted says, the dam will break over the weekend and we will get a very quick feel for quality of the release.

Still optimistic. I'll confirm over the weekend!

Didn't see any big names - the crapy-ness of the "new" Teranishi sketches stood out to me - compared to the nice pencils he did for Heritage:

WOW. You really can't please everyone. This is an excellent sketch, and one i'd love to have way more than his Heritage pencils. Wait till you see the military soldiers he drew.
