Personally, I've been waiting for this one to turn up, since I didn't think it would be approved.

If you didn't think it would get approved why did you do it?

I didn't even bother to put in an offer (I was driving anyways LOL). I recognized the card immediately from the FB page. Glad I could help with the Ted

Cool yeah, just the names. I snagged each of the ones that have surfaced - I noticed some other names on an old pre-order page though. Thanks

An artist's job sometimes is to push the limits. Plus I thought it was fitting that a Martian would be giving us a big FU.

Are ALL of the base cards numbered 1-69 available as concept parallels? Please tell me 'no' otherwise I'm afraid I'll feel the need to get them all! ;-)

We had asked Kieth Giffen, but he was under an exclusive with DC. We also wanted cut sigs from some of the legends like Woody Gelman, Wally Wood, Norm Saunders, but they proved either too pricey or nonexistant.

Perhaps if we do a second series we can do some more research and snag them!

1-58. And yes. I believe Eric Wilkerson's are in color, and hard to spot because they look VERY similar to the regular editions.

It's only the autos where the parallel set is incomplete: Greg Staples wasn't able to sign his in time. I believe there are something like 25 of each signature.

So you guys putting the set together: how crazy are you going to get?

Right now I'm thinking this (obviously I have more than 1 already for some of the "1" items):

1 base set + base inserts (encounters, masterpieces, anatomy, munchkin, propaganda)
full heritage set
propaganda graffiti 4-card set
1 gold
1 concept
1 gore
1 gold gore
1 artist auto
1 creator auto
1 movie auto
1 patch (plus 1 SP patch)
1 medallion (plus 1 SP medallion)
1 sketch
1 creator sketch
1 buyback
1 plate
1 binder

Maybes:

* 1 sketch puzzle
* Concept set
* Gold set
* Depending on how rare the SPs are for the patch and medallions, I would like to try to put those together.
* Don't see me ever getting a Cook, so I'm not even going to try to do the artist set

Simon Bisley is technically the rarest-- he only did 5 I think. Palumbo did 8 or 9. Dave Johnson, like Katie, did 10.

Not sure if I'll go for one each of the "chase" sets.
The saddest thing is other than the 1/1 items, most of the variants are based on existing items already in the extended base set... Except for the concepts. 58 cards with unique art and assembling a set could cost in the $500 range. This saddens me.

Base sets of 1-95 can be found in just about one box, at worst two if you get a medallion. I don't know where you're getting $500 from.

My best friend is Johnny Cash's granddaughter, and I grew up hanging out at Johnny and June's house in Hendersonville. He was basically a grandfather to me, and I married his granddaughter's half sister. I'm still super close to the family, and I just wanted to say that this card is bad ass!!!! My best friends sister had the original photo that this card is based on, and she sold it to the local card shop back in the 90's. They have the original photo in their shop, but it isn't for sale.....go figure.

Great job Ted!! I have a new card to hunt down now that I landed the "Music City No More" sketch involving Nashville (my home town)

Specifically the concept cards subset. Cards are different art, yet they are so rare the cost to assemble a set is prohibitive. I can easily pass on gold, or gore, but I feel my set will be incomplete w/o the concept set (a full set was listed last night for $795 obo).
