^ Yup, and now you own a rarity from the new set that has a vintage history.

OK Guys! I have a question?...on the sketch cards for the upcoming Invasion set what will be on the bottom of the card? I hope that they don't use the 1/1 MARS ATTACKS...I was not happy that they used this for the IDW Comics...it should have been separated from the Heritage Set and the upcoming Invasion set!

I sincerely hope they are entirely a different design and would be shocked if they weren't though. This seems to be an all new set

AND, that lion drawing is absolutely amazing!

The use of the Heritage style sketch cards for the IDW Limited sketch's was at their request: they felt it was important for the sketch cards to be as close to the real thing from Heritage (and at the time it was planned it would have released much closer to Heritage).

In hindsight, I think you're right, we should have had them do a unique, IDW-exclusive design. Lesson learned on that one.

yes, like the 4 bonus cards in the Mars Attacks Abrams Book! Unique!
In my opinion the IDW waters down the Heritage sketches even more...as they are not directly from the Heritage product...so, what will the Invasion Sketches have on the bottom?

I don't want to say (i'm sure we'll unveil them shortly) but its a really cool look with a logo and a sleek design flourish. In fact, it took me a few looks before I realized what the design was-- it's not just a random shape-- and when I saw it I thought it was really clever.

As far as the IDW sketches watering down the regular ones, I honestly don't think that will be the case. First, they're foil stamped, making the design somewhat unique. Second, they're VERY limited in number-- we're talking about adding 450 to a total of 12K or more.

Third, the cost of the IDW books are 125 for 1 and 400 for 4, which means someone who wants one has to pay a premium, so I don't know if they'll really make a serious dent in the value of the Heritage sketch cards.

There's also two different types of sketch cards, and I believe they each have different designs. I haven't seen the other one yet.

I dig the design. Nice and simple. Unassuming. Lets the art do the talking. Nice job.

The red logo design are the regular sketch cards. The green ones are "Creator Sketch Cards" and will be exclusively for those artists who worked on the base story set. Those involved will do a very limited number of cards each.

So does that mean Joe Jusko will be doing a few? That would be awesome!

I gotta say, that's pretty cool.

Hope I get to be a part of this one. I'll be bummed if I don't.

Those have no appeal to me. I collect cards and art. The art looks great, but the trinkets seem just that.

Well, they will be mounted on cards.

I think this kind of thing is fun.
