^ Good point. Based on your comment, I checked eBay, and it is indeed Ben. Thanks!

Because of your comments on this site, in addition to signing the last 30-40 Mars Attacks Invasion cards I drew, I also printed my name underneath each signature.

I don't get why some artists don't want to better advertise their work. I think Hamer is brilliant for including his web site.

I agree! I'm going to start adding "Zerostreet" on my future cards.

I just print my name on all my cards. Sometime I'll sign an AP, but that's about it.

I don’t mind the occasional deal on an “unknown artist” illegible signature sketch

FWIW, the price you paid for Horley's card is a bargain, but not an art-heist like Cook's. I know because I am commissioning something directly from Alex (not a sketch card though)

Cook's commissions aren't that expensive either.

Also as a FYI, those pieces of original art are now re-listed. 3/4 of them with an increased BIN price.

Most of Norem's character-based work (ie: not generic magazine art) goes for similar prices. Considering the popularity of Mars Attacks among art collectors, Earl Norem's skill and name, I think they're appropriately priced. Many of the MA artists sell their originals for about that price, and many are painted much smaller than Earl's, who tends to paint much larger (these are pretty sizable for card art, painted at about 14 x 20 if i recall correctly).

I would disagree that the girl should be any higher however-- in my view the Martian is what people really want. It may have a sexy woman, but without the Martian it's far more generic looking without the context of the product.

To be frank, my favorite is the sailor piece, and that's actually the lesser priced one!

Sure, the price is appropriate. It’s just a little shocking that a big company like Topps would inadvertently list them in the first place, and then raise the price 2 days later? Shady practice is you ask me. If they were put up once and only once for $3000/each I wouldn't have balked – that would have sat better with me quite honestly.

That's a bummer but certainly more in line with what they should have been listed for the first time.

I also don't get why the Martian woman one is priced so high? Like Alvin said, the visuals in it are the farthest from what Mars Attacks collectors would want. But I guess there are horny guys out there with big bucks. :turkey:

Everyone is always suspicious. It's just called a mistake. It happens. There's no grand conspiracy.

I sure hope that's what Topps paid for the original art from Norem, and they are just trying to break even.
