I don't think sleeper and GPK go together.

I wish all the rippers good luck on chrome!

I think putting them in the Chrome format is going to be far more popular than people realize right now.

I honestly don't know how chrome reaction is going to be. I've ripped A LOT of GPK previously, however I have tapered my case breaking this year or so.

Chrome will be an interesting step, and I hope it does well for everyone. It's always nice to see the hobby grow.

I joined the group break because I wasn't interested in going in on my usual GPK case or two for the Chrome product. Picked up an additional box besides that. Can't imagine I'll put any more money into it. Honestly, I'm more excited about BNS3.

I love Chrome cards in general and I'm very curious about this product, so I joined the group break as well. I can't swing a case of this stuff and I figured this group break would be the next best thing

Once they release odds I'm sure someone will crunch the numbers to figure it out.

I have "heard" significantly less then BNS1 and 2. So much less that some distributors did not get the allotment they asked for. We will see if it dries up after release like flashback 1 did.

Agree. Plus it's OS1 which is nostalgic and very expensive to rip.

They are intending on doing at least the first 3 series in Chrome, so I'm sure this one is going to be short printed (compared to other GPK products) to increase pre-sales on the following sets.

I don't work on GPK, but my guess would be they were printed to order rather than intentionally short-printed. I doubt Topps would leave money on the table!

Working on Mars Attacks, I am indeed curious to see the end result and how fans react. Is there an appetite to see more old sets released in Chrome, I wonder?

They may have been 'printed to order' but it will still be a short print compared to a standard GPK run. I'm not a business insider by any means, but clearly Topps print runs normally exceed the volume of orders received during the pre-sale period. I assume the pre-sale volumes are used as an indicator to guide the print run, not that they only print enough product to fulfill pre-orders. That said, the print run on this product may be very slim beyond the pre-sale volumes, resulting in limited availability shortly after release. Limited availability leads to box prices increasing, which ultimately leads to an increase in pre-orders for the subsequent releases. Which, in turn, leads to larger print runs and ultimately a surplus of product. At least that appears to have been the case for ANS1, FB1, and BNS1 and their subsequent releases.

I don't really take an issue with it, although if they want to increase the base price for GPK I think they should cap the print run. This comment doesn't apply to Chrome, which is positioned as a premium product. For the base line, box prices are going up but aftermarket value is stagnant due to the excess amount of product available.

I for one dislike chrome or foil or otherwise special treatment versions of existing cards. As a fan it just strikes me as a cheap way to re-use old material.

But if it's something fans really want, I'd consider it.

I do not care for Chrome as well. One thing for sure I think Topps should rest fooling with the original 1962 set...the new Invasion set is nice, but another reprint of the 1962 set in any form would really suck. It's just too special.
look what the value went down to on heritage 1-55 (+10 +15)=80 total! less than ten dollars on ebay. That's pretty sad.

I don't think fans want it, especially since Heritage just came out. Maybe for the 75th anniversary.
