Here's my once a year warning. For those buying from similar sites as Cass just did, be careful!!! You all know the saying: If it's too good to be true, generally it is.
I pre-ordered from a dealer I've dealt with in the past. I'm pretty sure they were being honest with me the whole time, but I think many distributors (like Diamond) promised more than they could deliver on and, sadly, probably only fulfilled their biggest customers... leaving the smaller players and their customers (me) with nothing to show.

I won't pay the ridiculously jacked-up prices that are a staple of this release now, so I'm out as far as collecting WD goes.

I was able to secure four cases from 2 known retailers who have ALWAYS delivered for me in the past at $895 for two cases and $1000 for another two. Hoping to secure one more when it becomes available. I don't think this year is going to be as crazy as last year due to the two part release. I still would like to know signers, but I love the show and I am a "master set" builder of it regardless......

Why, you signing? lol...lol

I'm sure we'll all hear at the same time. I have no idea as of yet. Hoping for more info as the release date nears....

Can't expect much for Part 1 since a majority of actors from the prison are pretty much the same, minus Michonne and a couple extras.

I just checked Dave and Adams and they now have a release date of mid-January now. I would be slightly disappointed if this slipped into next year, but it is what it is. I guess if this goes into next year, when does part two come out?

Blowout has the release date of March 31st, 2014

Wow! Far cry from Nov/Dec.

Definitely not Q4 2013 like their website says. Release dates seem to be the kryptonite to not only the big companies but the smaller ones too. A three-month push when you are already two months away from the original release date is a bit alarming. I wonder if the real release date is somewhere in between? I know Dave and Adam's has it listed for January 15, 2014.

Even if it comes out in March at least it'll be coming out when the show is on and people's interest in it will be at it's peak...but yeah, I hope it comes out earlier for sure.

From a FB post by Tim Shay:

Quote:
In a Walking Dead Season 3 Discussion, it was mentioned that I was not be included as an artist on that set. I have received several messages inquiring if that is accurate,... Yes it is. I was Un-invited from that set back in June. Since that time I have been awaiting answers to my emails and calls as to why I exactly I was excluded. I have received no contact since that time to tell me what exactly occurred, so I think it is safe to say I will Not be drawing on any more sets (Walking Dead or otherwise) from that particular company. This is not posted to trash-talk, but to clarify as I am getting a lot of inquiries on Artist Proofs and have had to state the situation several times, so I figured it is prudent to post it just to clarify.

Not even going to speculate on which side is right or wrong or whatever, and I freely admit to second or third or maybe even tenth-hand gossip, but I heard that this was the problem - https://m.facebook.com/photo.php?fbi...00000342782674

Ive been told from more than one source that when he was under their umbrella those were ok.

During a show where personal politics behind the scenes were expressed and came to light, he didnt fall in line with their thinking, at that point, these were supposedly a problem all of a sudden and he was pretty much taken off their list.

Interesting...I wouldn't think those would be okay either way...don't get me wrong I know a lot of artist do it (and I am obviously all for it given my extensive PSC collection), but I could see where an artist would be "punished" in this way for doing PSCs on something they do not have a license for.

Heck why Tim would draw official sketches for pennies on the dollar is beyond me anyway...he can generally sell his sketches for way more than CZE or any company would pay him.
