Default Star Wars Illustrated

Didn't see a thread for this upcoming series so I thought I'd start one. This is my second official sketch card gig and I'm having lots of fun with these.

I believe STAR WARS ILLUSTRATED will be out in November. The series features folded, double wide sketch cards.

If you're an artist on the series, share some of your work!

Below are some of my approved cards. You can see more of my work at my sites of my BO thread:

Beautiful stuff, zerostreet! The Jawa is definitely my favorite, following closely by the C3-PO.

I'm curious... what's your opinion on these multi-panel sketch cards? I find them ridiculous for a number of reasons, but as an artist, what are your thoughts?

By the way, are the blanks pre-creased when the company sends them to you?

Thanks! The C3PO is one of my faves so far. Will definitely be a return card for me.

As to the cards, they came prefolded. I thought my pen or paint would kinda ride the crease but to be honest it hasn't been an issue for me in that regard. The trickier thing is working your composition so a mouth or some such part doesn't fall in that crease in a way that would affect the illustration.

Just got my Blanks yesterday, for my AR's I'm going to flatten out the creases so the surface is smooth to work on. These should be fun to do. I like that Death Star card.

Wow. Those are really nice. I wasn't thinking much of this release before, but may have to rethink that now.

Thanks GoBeavs! Not sure of all the artist on the set, but I do know that Chris Hamer (URBNPOP) and Jason Crosby, both of whom turned in awesome cards for Mars Attacks: Invasion are also contributing to ILLUSTRATED.

I don't have any of my final Star Wars cards approved to show yet so I thought I'd show off some sketches. I have to learn the subtleties of every character because I know someone will call me out if I miss something!!!

I'd rather a two-puzzle piece pack to these folding cards. Pass on this product.

Just had more cards approved for showing by Topps today. This one's my favorite!

This will be the first star wars release I pass on, mostly due to the "film cel relic" hits. We all know how well those did in the Jedi Legacy set.

The sketches look nice, just not sure how I feel about these folded ones.

Thanks Cujobyte.

Here's another of my approved cards.

Just got back from vacation, and my cards were waiting for me! Now, I'm gonna need to bust ass to get them done by deadline!

I'm especially excited to work on the extended and additional scenes from the radio drama!

I'll be posting some cards, after I get them approved; as well as have a few blanks available for commissions.

This looks like a cool product, something a bit different. Do you all think this set is worth buying? If so, what do you think a case will go for?

if topps sticks to the sell sheet this will be a disaster for breakers/collectors who purchase sealed wax.

one $5-$10 film cel card per box in about half the boxes that get opened as the lone box hit? are you kidding me?

Thought I'd post a few before I splash color on them soon! I got a late jump on the 50 Star Wars cards, but inked 15 today.

Thanks! I started late so I'm having to knock 'em out quick like. I'm halfway done inking the 50 though and if I'm lucky, I'll ink them all by Monday.
