Default New Information Regarding 2007 Razor Poker

Recently I decided to contact Todd Brunson about the cards he signed for the 2007 release of Razor Poker. Since you're reading this thread, I assume you already know that he signed in both black and green ink. He is the only player to anyone's knowledge that signed in a color other than black. Some of you may also know that he signed at least one card in red, and the red variation is sure to be the rarest by far.

As I said, I decided to contact Todd via e-mail through a fellow poker player who knows his direct address because I was curious to know if Todd could shed some light on the following two questions: How many different colors did he use to sign his cards with, and approximately how many of each color did he sign? (600+ black, 400+ green, 1 red?) I thought that there was a good possibility he might have signed one in blue because online poker sites give you the option to use a four color deck (spades=black, hearts=red, diamonds=blue, clubs=green), but without someone pulling it or Todd's confirmation, I figured we may never know. Well, Todd was quick to reply with the following:

"I believe there were just three. I just wanted to mix things up a little. The vast majority were in black. They didn't authorize me to use other colors, I just did it."

Todd plays for literally millions of dollars a day so I didn't expect his reply to be very long or detailed, but this still leaves me with some questions (namely how many reds are there approximately? 1? 10? 100?). The good news is that he replied, and one can assume that there are only the three colors because surely he'd remember signing in something other than black, green and red (a rainbow crossed my mind just now, lol). Unfortunately, I would also assume there must be more than 1 red simply because he should know if he signed only the one, but this is all speculation as Todd neither confirmed nor denied the existence of a lone red autograph. I've seen literally hundreds of 2007 Brunson autos, and so far I have seen only 1 red with maybe 20% being green. Kind of cool that he did this without authorization... I think this was a fantastic idea to make his cards gain some additional popularity (not like the son of Doyle Brunson needs any hype... he's already widely regarded as one of the top cash game players alive, and if you watch High Stakes Poker on GSN, you've seen Todd several times). Anyway, I hope this information is useful to anyone who was curious about Todd's alternate colors.

Derek,

Could this mean that he believes there are just 3 red ink autos? I know of 2. I will try and scan pictures of them together later today if I can find them.

I was able to put together 2 complete Master sets, although the 2nd one cost me a lot more than the first one to put together. I have all of the variations in both sets that I know about as well.

If anyone is interested in buying one from me, let me know.

Matt

Matt, I think the, "I believe there were just three." was in reference to the number of different colors he signed in (black, green, and red).

Actually, Matt has a point. The response was so brief that it's hard to tell, but Todd might have been refering to the number of reds. I'll ask him again in a couple of weeks.
