Lightbulb Mars Attacks Invasion Medallion & Patch Tracker

Since it doesn't look like we're going to get short print info on the medallions and patches, I thought I'd put together a tracker for them based on the data currently available on eBay. This should help sellers and buyers.

Please feel free to add private sales or if you pulled one and are keeping it PC.

Maybe give the details for MM-7 since it's a rare. Also maybe asterisk the rares, since it's not apparent that MM-9 is a rare.

Nice work, though.

I don't think MM-7 is that rare comparatively--I used < 10 total as the cut off for SP.

Good idea on marking the ones that look like they are SPs.

On second thought, there's a pretty big gap between MM-7 and the rest, so I'll add the details for it.

Very nice work Monkey! Btw, have to wonder about some of the ebay sellers out there. $14.95 when another sold for $150 etc? I don't get it, I guess people just are too lazy to research. Or that Katie Cook that sold for $74.95 without her name attached to the sale.

Many of the rare ones that sold cheap, were sold VERY early on, before rarity was established.

I don't get the prices at all - no way these are worth over $100. In a year from now when nobody cares, they'll be going for $50-$80.

Very informative, thanks Monkey McGee! I did hit a SP patch (MP-4), so this is a big help for me. I had put it up 2 nights ago for $150 BIN/BO, but wasn't sure what kind of offers I should get.

Yeah, a lot of the bargains are at the beginning before anyone knows there are SP's. Since many people will assume all the cards are the same, and put them all up at the same price. The $14.95 sale was a little surprising, since 2 of those cards had already sold for around $150, so that must be a case of the seller not checking completed listings.

I sold the MP-4 on 11/7. It was only listed for 10 minutes before the offer of $150.

I've given up guessing about such things anymore. I would have never guessed a single Shadowbox card from Marvel Premiere would now be selling for $250-400+. And looking at the first Star Wars Galactic Files, many patches are still selling quite high. Crazy.

I think when it comes to getting SPs for an insert set, logic and reason go out the window a bit.

Of course, this is why breakers love it when companies add these kinds of cards to their products.

if Star Wars patches/medallions and marvel premier shadowbox and classic corners are any indication, that is a false statement. Only time will tell.

This may very well be a n00bish question, but do companies typically release the rarity of these SSP variants? I think we've seen more of the 1:1670 (creator sketch/comic creator auto) and 1:3152 (loaded sketch packs of 4) than some of these patches / medallions.

I pulled an MM-11 yesterday from some loose packs that I picked up at a hobby shop - It sold overnight for $180.

I pulled a Medallion MM-9 "Last Licks" today. I will probably keep it, at least for awhile.

Unless you're putting the set together, I'd seriously consider letting that one ride soon before more show up. You could be sitting on $150-200 right there

I just looked at my medallions again and noticed that I have MM-16 Destroying a Dog (had MM-15 and initially thought they were the same). :turkey:

I will report what it sells for once it does.
