Default Will There Be A Guardians of the Galaxy Set?

Has anyone heard about whether or not there will be a set to tie in to the movie?

Doubt it. Everyone is holding their breath to see if the movie is going to be a hit or be Marvel's first bomb.

haven't heard anything although I'm sure UD has the licensing rights so 1 of 2 things will happen

1) they may have thought it wouldn't be too popular and decided against a set

or

2) Will have a set come out of no where with little to no info (just like all their other sets )

Unfortunately I dont think we'll see one but it would have been cool to have a
Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon auto!

It would have an interesting auto lineup.

Yeah. I'm not a big auto guy, but this set would have been fun to put together. The movie looks like it is going to be a blast!

I was thinking the same thing the other day. I would be all over a GotG set if it was put out. Lots of people in the movie that have signed before as well so UD should be able to get a decent autograph line up.

Bradley Cooper - Alias
Vin Diesel - Riddick
Zoe Saldana - Star Trek
Michael Rooker - Walking Dead Season 1

Then you have Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan, Benicio Del Toro, James Gunn, Batista, Lee Pace, Glen Close, John C. Reilly... It's a great cast with lots of potential. Hopefully UD makes a set. They have done every other Marvel movie release in the last couple years, don't see why they would skip on this one

Daredevil wasn't a Marvel Studios release though.

Every movie in this franchise has had a trading card set... I don't see this being the outlier.

Neither Thor: Dark World nor Captain America: Winter Soldier trading card releases were announced this far in advance of the movie. Buckycap started the CAWS thread on Jan 2, just four months before the movie was due to hit. TDW just seemed to release without any notice at all. I only heard about it in August because I knew artists working on the sketch cards.

I don't have any kind of inside information or crystal ball though. Maybe there won't be a set.

I hope this gets a set, i agree with Chuck, everything i've seen for this movie since Comic Con last summer has looked really good.

True - the presales for Winter Soldier showed up sometime in that last week of December. I clearly remember because we were all checking on Thor product every day and it was posted as a presale with that first sell sheet.

According to the NSU release calendar Upper Deck is making the card set for this and it's coming out in June.

Also, in the next issue of NSU (June/July issue) there will be details about the set plus a promo card from it.

Cool... Can't wait! I need to start saving money now. I will likely have to sit out the Marvel Universe set in order to afford some cool GG stuff. Glad to hear it is a done deal though!

Karen Gillan & Benicio Del Toro both have autographed cards as well
Karen will be in the Doctor Who set for Topps.
Benecio signed for a James Bond set for Rittenhouse if I remember correctly.
