To your point about the backs, I hope the bios are not just the usual dry history that everyone knows. I hope they hire a real writer and give the bios some personality, perhaps with some quirky commentary. My favorite part of the bios on the original Marvel Universe set was the "did you know?" that was often some little funny tidbit. Even the stats on the back were pretty humorous at times.

Wow. I'm super excited! I was so sad to have sold my original masterpieces back in college when I needed some money. So after I got a job, I was excited about rebuying back all the Fantastic base cards Joe had produced.

Can't wait to see more!

Agree with you. I forget how many times I read those cards over and over. I learned a lot of stuff about Marvel Universe without reading millions of comics.

It is too bad companies like Rittenhouse just focus in the copy-paste artwork and forget add some some comments in the back of the cards. Base sets like Marvel Heroes and Villains, the Marvel 70 Years, Justice League Archives, etc. needed the back comments and info.

To Mister Jusko,

It's very sad that base cards are considered as wothless these days.

I love the original Marvel Masterpieces set.

You, sir are one only one of 5 artists I actually Collect.

the others are Boris, Julie Bell, Sonia Hillos & Olivia.

I must admit I have a insane set from kingdom come with about 30 autographs. - that is just one set.... I don't collect Alex Ross , but I did love that book & card set.

Ebay has pretty much destroyed the Value of cards.

I have over 70 sets that I insert Autographs or rare chase cards into just to get $8-10 out of a set.

From what I've seen in the last few years, base sets are considered industrial waste.

Brutal conditions to sell under.

Your work doesn't go unnoticed by people who actually like the art. Just by the Rip & Flip Crowd.

I still have one Unopened box & the Tin Set for the 1st Marvel Masterpieces.

a fan forever.

This is great news!!!! I hope they keep the simplicity of the layout of the previous cards with much of the focus on the artwork itself.

WTF!? Joe Jusko still one of the best artist for trading cards. Finally Upper Deck is trying to redeem themselves after killing the franchise with the non-sense copy-paste artwork of 2007-2008.

Joe Jusko rules!

If the revival works. I hope to see the Brothers Hildebrandt and even Alex Ross in future series. Even give the opportunity to the new sketch artist to make a set. A lot of the new guys have a lot of talent. Just to spend in 1:1 sketch card that not everybody upload in the Internet to share the artwork.

Might have a little trouble getting the Brothers Hildebrandt to do any...

I feel sorry for Joe in a way. He's going all out on this one and most people just want to talk about the sketches.

Wow! I think it is safe to say that is the best art of any base card that RR has ever appeared on. This set is going to be great!

? Not that I am trolling the internet to see conversations about MM 14 and Jusko, but seems to me most comments here at least have been about how excited people are to see Mr. Jusko doing base cards again. Without a doubt this is the highlight of the set. 1000s of Marvel sketch cards are drawn every year - this is only the second Marvel base set Mr. Jusko has done in 20 years. LOVE IT!!!
