Okay, now that makes more sense. I was wondering why the heck they'd cut production in half for something that dealers are going to price gouge on as soon as possible.

They also don't seem to mention any 2, 3, or 4 panel cards. I was never a fan of those, but some seemed to like them.

They are there. 'Each box will one booklet sketch card or three or four panel folding sketch card.'

Hopefully sellers don't just get them and price them at $400 because.. not happening.

Doh... Good eye! I think this set will sell out a lot more quickly than the first set when people were initially balking at the high price point.

A lot of sets coming out this year... Doesn't the Jusko Marvel Masterpieces hit this year as well?

Going to be over produced based on previous products to fill the demand. Of course when that happens, the price drops and then it's treated like the plague.

Nah, lot's of guys seem to be dropping out of the set or threatening to drop out of the set due to a tight deadline.

42 base the first time and 60 this time. that's an additional 3582 boxes more than the first release.

actually it's even more than that due to the parallels.

boxes will hover in the $200 range for a loooooooooong time.

I'll be taking a wait and see approach on this set. Because all signs point to a significant increase in production. Going from 50 to 60 base cards = 20% increase in production. Adding spectrum parallels = 10-15% increase in production. And the first set was good because it was under-ordered, and they added extra base cards and base sketches to many of the boxes. So overall, there may be a 50% increase in production. Getting 50% more high quality sketches will be very difficult for UD to do, in fact I think it would be difficult for UD to get as many high quality sketches as they did for the first set even if they didn't increase production.

So if you are going to pre-order this set, be careful. Prices will likely be very high based on demand and everyone thinking it will blow up like the first set.

Exactly. I'd have to go back and check my records but, I am quite certain, I had extra hits in a few of the boxes from my case. I know there were extra base cards and, at least, two boxes had extra single sketches. It had to be severely under ordered for them to be throwing in extra sketches. Might just have to watch this from the sidelines and snag sketches after everyone else breaks. Looks like this might end up being the 'National Treasures' of non-sports cards this year.

And, as posted above, the booklets are in this. Anthony Tan has them on his Facebook page. I haven't thrown any of that conversation into google translate but, it appears they are making fun of the instructions and/or something similar.

See, they could put in a redemption card for a 'Frank Kadar 1/1 sketch card'. Now, both the collector and the company are praying you decide to work on another sketch card set for them so they actually get a card. Yes, this is how sports cards work now. People and the companies end up waiting 2+ years for somebody like Tom Brady to sign cards.

Any ideas on what the price for this will be out of the gate? If I remember correctly, I paid about $220 a box at the LCS on the day it came out.

Woot - happy day! Hoping to see a good assortment of industry artists again though it would be nice if they did more than ~7 sketch cards as it took me over a year to find one artist. Nevertheless, artists across the board stepped up their game and personally I <3 3-7panel sketches so bring it on!
