Default Dangerous Divas 2 - 2014 Rittenhouse

I actually don't think, and can't even find, where a thread was ever started for this. I know I posted some random information about it months ago, and found those, so here ya' go.

Rittenhouse just posted a few pics of a sample production box.

Thanks for sharing, especially since I discovered that there's gonna be an Agents of Shield set by following that link.

Here's the link to the product page with all the parallel/insert details and ratios. Appears they got rid of the most common foil parallel and just went with the /100 and /10 instead for the base set. They note it as a 12/19 release while most places show 12/17, so not entirely sure if that's a late switch or even accurate - either way - next week.

It was an honor to be included on this set, and was honored to be named as one of the 9-Case Incentive Artist on this release (along side way more talented people than myself). Hope you like my work!

Sweet cards. You always do nice cards, you're well deserving of being a case incentive artist. Thanks for posting.

You should demand they create a new 10 1/2 case incentive for your work.

You would think they'd post some scans or something, with this due out in 2 days. Interested to see what the boxes are numbered to... or if they're numbered. Based on certain parallel odds, it's shady math anyhow...

•90-card "Emerald" parallel base set, individually numbered to 100 (1 per box)

So, this is easy: 9000 boxes which equals 750 cases.

•90-card "Diamond" parallel base set, individually numbered to 10 (1 per case)

So, 900 cards at 1 per case = 900 cases.

But then, you have this:

•25 cards (part three) of our 75-card, year-long MARVEL 75TH ANNIVERSARY celebration! This third set of 25 cards, each numbered to 75, will be inserted at the rate of 2 per case (1:144 packs)!

Which works out to 1875 total insert cards @ 2 per case = 937.5 total cases.

So either there are extra Emeralds (extra hits?), less Diamonds or something. Either way, ~9,000 more sketches. Yay?

aaannnnddd - they're numbered to 5500 boxes. I haven't opened anything yet but, hopefully, this means better quality sketches throughout.

From looking at the parallel cards listed on ebay, the base set suffers from a real lack of uniformity. A ton of nice sketches though.

I really don't even know why they make base cards in these releases anymore. These are so flimsy, you can tell the stock is cheap in the first place. Second, if you're going to put in a lot of obscure characters, it'd be nice to turn the card over and actually have something explaining the character, their origin, affiliation(s)... anything. Nope. Just part of a larger puzzle. 40% of the front of the card seems to be covered with that design which would actually look nice ... if it didn't take up nearly half the image area.

Sure do hope some more sketches show up, though. 500 is absolutely nothing and it looks like they were well picked over before hitting the bay. I may just go strictly commissioned APs. I'm about 75% there already anyhow.

Kind of wish they would just go the route of how Breygent did Red Sonja and Vampirella. Granted, you lose the joy of opening packs, but really in these 1 sketch per box releases, after I find the sketch the remaining packs aren't that fun to open unless there are some nice inserts.

Or make base sets harder to piece together. Typically when I open a case, I sell a couple base sets, trade a few and then the rest are recycled or donated.

They could keep base sets, if they go the route of UD and Premier - just number those things to 200 or whatever, so they are actually worth something and a bit of a challenge to get. They keep searching for value by adding more when the answer is less. I think (hope) a lot more of the Once Upon a Time and, now, Buffy - boxed set type stuff becomes more common. A single pack box of a couple base cards (numbered) with inserted parallels and a Marvel sketch would suit the market just fine. Save the company the cost of printing 5 million base cards and use it to up the chances of more top artist/sketches. Seriously, I just threw all base cards into a misc. non sports base card box that I just save up and sell to a local collector every few months. Not even worth the time to sort.

I was also thinking the variety on eBay was a little lackluster. Was hoping to see a few case breaks, but nothing posted here yet and Scoundrel is still down
