Topps Heroes

I noticed Topps are releasing 'Heroes' (the NBC TV Show) cards featuring autograph, sketch, and memorabilia cards.

I haven't yet found info on insert rates of these, nor anybody listing cases for pre sale, but if the pre-sell price is not too high, the inserts not impossible to pull, and Topps don't roll the presses excessively this could be an excellent flip product.

Very popular show, and the second season starts in late September.

Chris, will you be offering these?

I notice Chris' price for these just took a significant leap. He has them now at $400 a case. Still some sellers on eBay at a bit less than this.

Could the price rise be due to Topps releasing some details as to the memorabilia items, and the sketch cards?

Will this go higher when the autograph cards are confirmed?

from what i was told by a topps direct dealer is that there will either be an auto, sketch or memorabilia per box.

i am in for 2 cases when it is released. i think it's gonna "semi" explode..... possibly to $70/box.

I'm also in for 2 cases, and maybe more once the specifics are officially released.

The latest news is that Tim Sale (the artist who drew all the actual paintings used in the TV series) has sketch cards, and Noah Gray-Cabey (the young actor who plays Micah) is also doing a small number.

Not quite Harrison Ford's signature, but these should certainly be major drivers of demand for this product.

It's also being circulated that Topps has been so 'surprised' by the demand for this product they've ordered more sketch cards from some of the artists. Whether this means insert ratios might be better, or they're just going to crank out gazillions more of it is not yet clear.

Official autograph list is currently only two! Obviously this is bound to grow - we just don't know by how much yet.

With more sketch cards ordered and an auto list that isn't yet finalised there's no way this comes out Oct 15.

As it is, though, if the second season generates as much buzz as the first, and you can lock in early, this could turn out to be one of the releases of the year.

i hope it is delayed for a couple of weeks. i need to scare up another grand for more cases. i just hope that the second season doesn't suck. that would definitely kill interest.

Ordered a case myself today. This will be my first non-sports issue. I hope everything goes well.
