I'm EXTREMELY excited for this release base on the relics alone. Very happy they are adding items with more "screen time" than in the past.

The Rey stamp card looks incredible. I love how the card image itself is specific to the stamp. If it's number 99 that's going to be a $250 card.

I figured the UK stamps would make their way into this set. Nice looking cards.

Anybody have thoughts about if they put duplicate sketches in this product? I think it would be horrible.

Yeah Topps needs to go back to the true 1/1

If they do duplicates, they should at least have gold version with only 5 and then have true 1/1's with the wood versions.

Well, both FA1 and FA2 had duplicates, and so will Evolutions. So it wouldn't be overly surprising.

The duplicate to me Kill the set to a large degree and also recouping monies for more product. No one needs ten sketch cards of the same image.

I have a question regarding the multiple repeat sketches. Would you guys rather have you to list of artist where nearly half of the sketches are subpar quality, or would you prefer this way where at least they have a smaller list of ( generally ) more talented artist? I know I have opened boxes in the past with sketches that were near rage inducing. Practically insulting that they ended up in the product. And I don't mean I just didn't like it, I mean absolutely terrible and lazy.

For me personally the duplicate thing does not necessarily bother me. I only open the boxes to collect for myself and my daughter, so resell value is not a big issue for me. I would preferred to get a quality sketch even if there are more than one of it. However, I absolutely understand the need for people resell to recoup cost to stay in the game.

I agree somewhat. For me Chrome 2 and Journey were the worst I've seen since the original sketch card, but back then we didn't have high expectations, so it is only looking back that I realize how bad it was.

I wouldn't mind the duplication so much if I got high quality. I will say the quality of sketch cards are much better for FA1 and FA2, I just don't want to pull the same artist and same sketch in the same case.
That is by biggest issue.

I'll admit I wasn't a big fan of them, but that's because the cards were all the same with a different stamp. They had a very generic look. It looks like these are going to be printed to match the stamp, which makes them much more appealing to me.

They were fairly tough hits, you did only get 1 or 2 per case.
Also Rey and other new characters will sell for good money.
We have seen that anything of Rey #'ed to 100 or less sells pretty darn well.

Must like most releases, this set is just a Huge Gamble. You got lucky if you opened a couple of boxes and made money from sketches.

I opened more than a case of Masterworks and certainly did not profit. Abysmal pulls for the win!

Big name awesome sketches are even a tough sell. I have a James Henry Smith that still hasnt sold.

Well i did hear from a well known artist that he passed on masterworks as he did not like the duplicate process in place now. That kinda bites. He's doing a few personal sketch cards and his work will be missed in star wars.

I can say later but he asked his name not be used for now. But it does seem we will see duplicates in Masterworks.

Sooooo glad I just get in person autographs at cons and hire who I want to sketch... done with gambling, done with stickers, and done with crap sketches!!! This product should do much better with sketches, but again, my standards are very high now that I have worked with a few in person. Topps has gone over board with Star Wars, to many releases, to many sketches, and the only Autograph worth money is Ford and Ridley. Between Topps and Leaf, they have saturated the market with Hamill and Fisher stickers. I would love to see them go back to a few sets a year, 3 maybe, get rid of medallions and stamps, and give us true relics, and only ON CARD Autographs. Even Masterwork seems to have some sticker autographs.

Since they have now lost the Football license Topps will NEVER go back to 3 releases a year. They need to make up some of that lost money.

This is such a giant step backward. I hope they can get the approval process back on track because repeats are going to destroy an already struggling Star Wars sketch market.

I would imagine sketch cards that are from the first 6 movies can be true 1/1's, like they were in Journey and High Tek
Also even if FA1 and FA2, there seems to be sketch cards that are much more rare than others, even getting close to being 1/1's.
There is a portrait of Kylo Ren by Robert Teranishi that seems like there are 40 copies, but then I got an Ingrid Hardy painting that looks to be a 1/1 or at most just a few.

Who knows their thought process and how this will change or continue.

I agree 100%. Duplicity kills.
