No way in hell I would presell this early.

And get to wait four months for those mini boxes too. I'm surprised ( well , no I'm not) eBay allows such early pre sales when order allotment not really known. And putting Ridely? In the listing is really misleading. He's just begging fur negative feedback

Ebay has rules on pre-sales which is 30 days, but there is absolutely no way that Ebay should be expected to monitor possibilities of allotment issues. Only way to do that is to eliminate pre-sales across the board.

That's true , wonder if they do anything if the listing is reported.

Yes, if listing is reported then eBay will investigate and remove the listing. This will not reverse completed sales though.

Re - Duplicate SW Sketch cards
I know this is currently a huge topic for the genre. Topps apparently just responded to an outcry on their FB page. Summary-- They know about the issue, want to change it, but it wont be resolved for a while.

I also got this response from Topps about autos in their product of Star Wars

"As an official licensee we are subject to different rules regarding Star Wars talent. We are still actively pursuing autograph deals for Daisy and others from Ep7."

I figured Topps' hands were tied by Disney about using the repeat images (and mostly safe, stock portraits too). Again...not sure how this is good for artists or collectors. I'm just glad some collectors are speaking out about it.

At least if need repeat stuff. Hopefully some new ones, but I'm not counting on sketches to really help sales wise. It's just a bonus now...those days are gone till we can get unique sketches

I'm out for good until they resolve this duplicate sketch thing.
I just cannot tolerate this anymore.

I get that Topps has their hands tied by Disney, but why is Disney being so difficult?
I mean they allow every kind of toy to be made, along with every possible item from toothbrushes to underwear to whatever have a Star Wars logo or picture on it!

What is the big deal about artists making sketches of their choice?

Topps can do their own QC to make sure they are of decent quality or appropriate!

Big business makes simple things so difficult!

This.

My prior company had over 15,000 employees. Everything required ridiculous levels of approval and the red tape actually resulted in the need for dedicated employees to navigate said red tape, creating an endless cycle of torture.

My current company has 13 employees. We can make a decision to do something and have it finished tomorrow.

Lucasfilm was big, but nowhere near the size of Disney. They were more agile and lean. Disney is also in the early stages of using their new $4B investment and are going to be very hands-on for a while. They'll probably let up a little down the road, but I feel for Topps going from a small(ish) company like Lucasfilm to now dealing with the goliath Disney.

in my view it's just another hammer blow to Star Wars sets and sketch cards. Who wants repeat an images. My very best sketch cards are those unique images nobody else has done an exact match on. Repeat a portraits are just not appealing. I also felt the Hobbit sets suffered from this, sadly.

I can tell I will be a grumpy old collector yearning for the good old days....!

This defeats one of the main purposes of a sketch card.

We weren't instructed to do repeats. But we were instructed to depict specific characters and settings, some of which were only in the films briefly which meant limited reference.

Topps posted this on their twitter yesterday.

I think these Death Star relics are going to be insanely popular!

I wonder how tough of a pull they will be?

The bunker relic was my favorite pull from my box last series. A Death Star one would be even mo better.

Add: It would be great if the back included a picture of it before getting chopped up.

I read on face book one of the artists in the set got their Masterworks blanks and said-Jason Brower

"FedEx just dropped off my Star Wars Masterworks blanks and I have to say they are the most beautiful and striking SW cards I've worked on yet. There are regular logo, gold logo, wood cards and a booklet. Awesome!"

really looking forward to the set.
