Oh yeah, great news. Wouldn't be "Masterwork" without you guys!

I still have never pulled one of your sketch cards, but hope to in either Ghostbusters or Masterwork 2.

Great news! Very happy to see this happening. Looks like everyone is receiving these with a good amount of time to work on them also.

Sad to say I will not be in on this set with sketches this time. Had a blast with 2015 Star Wars Masterwork though

Same here. MW was the only set I wanted to participate in, but was told my cards were 'too cartoony' and asked could I change my style. I said 'no thank you'. That's too bad. Unless Lucasfilm's new strict rules become less so, I might be done with SW sets.

Screw that crap. Don't change what you're doing for idiots like that. This is exactly why I skewed my collection spending toward commissions a couple years ago. I much prefer the freedom of creativity and style that an artist has spent years developing vs. some canned work that was forced by a license. You can have incredible quality in all styles of work, so this is on them, not you. More time to keep that awesome Scooby set going!

What made MW1 so great was the creativity. The old school baseball style with the cartoonish characters or the stained glass with the abstract take were a different take that made me enjoy this set so much.
They styles that look as good as a real picture are great, but I don't want every card to look like that.

So here we have a major corporation that was built from cartoons rejecting art because it's "too cartoony". Way to go Disney!

I can remember the discussions being that the SW Masterworks was going to be a one of kind set. No one like it before or after. Well along comes MW2. At least you actually got a reason for exclusion. I just flat didn't get an invite. But it's cool. Maybe I can get in on MW4 lol.

Technically, I didn't get an invite either. I emailed them and mentioned I'd love to participate since MW1 and the sports-themed cards went over so well. The 'cartoony' and 'change style' comments followed.

It is what it is. I had a great run with SW and I'm not sweating it. Besides, I still have about FORTY blanks from all my sets.

There are plenty of those out there from other sets. Kind of sad they may be the only ones, now.

That sucks Jason. I liked your sketches from MW1. I guess Topps didn't care for mine either. I emailed them asking about this set too and got zippo.

One of the very first sketches I pulled:

Then picked this up on ebay for way too cheap:

Then I also pulled this about a year ago out of MW:

Really sad I won't be seeing more like this.

Not a huge surprise Just wonder if chrome will be pushed back also. What was the source of the info. I think we all knew this was happening as we know some artists just got their blanks a week ago or so.

It's from an updated release schedule for Topps products that I received from GTS this morning. No change for TFA Chrome or any other Non Sports other than MW at this time. If it means less redemptions for the on card autos then it's a good thing but if it gets pushed further back into an already loaded 4th qtr that will be unfortunate.

If MW gets pushed back again, I would imagine the ones after will get pushed back.

I know I will end up buying Chrome FA, but I am really doubting getting a full case.
I am an addict and will open anything, but even I doubt Chrome FA being very good at this point.

I so regret pre ordering chrome but this product was not announced or even rumored when I did pre order it. Chrome has 1 shot at being decent , adding a good auto even sticker. Other than that I just don't see chrome doing any good. Especially being sandwiched inbetween evolution and MW.

Pretty sure they couldn't tell if it was a regular relic now or an auto relic. With series one they were all plain, just numbered, but the auto relic would be so minuscule to detect versus a regular.
