Default Recommend a good scanner

I was wondering if anyone could suggest a good scanner for taking pictures of sports cards. I already have a very nice digital camera that I've used in the past, but it can be hard to take really close pictures. I've seen people mention that they use a scanner so I thought I would toss out this question. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I use a Canon CanoScan LIDE 90 -- does the job -- one thing that I really like is I can throw 9 cards on the scanner bed and it will produce 9 seperate images -- however, occasionally, it will crop the images in the wrong place when doing that...

You looking for cheap or best quality? I had a canon a few years ago and had issues with it. Currently use an Epson (not sure the exact model was $200) bought it for my wife's scrapbooking and teacher projects. Works like a champ!!

I'll sell you one much cheaper than that! I've got an older UMAX that I'm no longer using. If your interested shoot me a PM and I'll get you the details on it. Works great, wife has a 4 and 1 so we use that now.

Scanner to get????
Here is a link to the same thread.
Just another topic that has been covered a dozen times. There is a search option at the top of the screen so that the board isn't cluttered with multiple threads of the same thing.

I'm yet to find one....HP's are mostly junk when it comes to the scanner. I've always heard good things about Canon, but I'm yet to buy one.

I apologize for not searching for the topic ahead of time. I will make sure to do that next time. I appreciate all the info you have given me so far. It gives me some places to start looking.

jsut dont spend more money than you have to... esp if all you are going to do is use the scanner for cards, trust me, a cheaper scanner will suffice.

I recently bought an Epson Perfection V200 on newegg - $96 delivered.

Works like a charm. Had to replace my Epson Perfection 1670 that finally died after somewhere near 8 years of use!
