Donation time

I comute 750 miles a week and last night on my way home the I-15 here in SoCal did my 180000 miles car in

I blew a rod and I drove it 50 miles more to get home, 25 mph on the 15 and 215, WOW that was fun

I refuse to own a cell phone and live in the middle of nowhere, had to drive it.
Anyway, have any of you donated a car to an organization?
I was told there are some that will gladly take even with a dead engine.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

PS: Wife says, "Buy a new one AND GET A CELL PHONE CHEAP A$$" Said I could buy a cell phone instead of a few boxes of cards, how dare she LOL!

My wife and I donated one to the Austism Foundation a couple years ago. She handled it so I'm not 100% sure but I think they said it had to run. Hers ran fine but it wasn't worth the trouble of selling. She has a friend from work with an autistic child who gave her the idea. They come right to your house and get it.

Usually you can find a junkyard that will give you a few hundred for a non-running car. They will also come to your house and pick it up.

My wife got rid of her old car this way. I think they gave her either $200 or $250 for it and picked it up.

Junk yard would work but rather donate and feel good for a few minutes.

Daughter is a dog trainer and wants me to give it to APRL, an animal protection group. They are agaist eating meat so I don't know. got to have my steak

I bet that many of the places that accept non-working cars end up selling them to a junkyard anyways.

We donated to a local organization here in Lansing. Car needed a new shifting link but was a great runner. But they fix them and give them to locals hard up and need some transportation to get a job to help support themselves. One of the local wreckers came and got the car, in 5 min we had it running.
